#2 Posted: 3/10/2012 1:25:52 PM Yes some of my friends got limited access ie disabled with no access to their own money. Pay pal essentially assumes everyone is a crook and upon a first "deposit" into your pay pall account being frozen is very likely.
Getting access for some has been a constant and enduring headache. One has contacted state's attorney general but that probably is a multi year solution. |

#3 Posted: 3/14/2012 12:52:47 PM I have no direct experience with them but i researched this from google and i found tons of discontent out there with pay pal. They do seem to go overboard on the issue of not trusting their own clients. Guess i ll find out if i ever hit a win here.

#7 Posted: 3/24/2012 8:30:23 AM Pay pal is unfriendly when you receive money into your account from anywhere other than your own bank account. I ve done that with no problems but upon recieving money via a route other than my bank account, i was confronted by them with many questions forcing me to go thru a resolution process. After quite a long time it was straightened out by them. I did nothing wrong it was suspicion on the part of pay pal. ( see deacons basic comment )

#8 Posted: 3/24/2012 3:42:51 PM When I won 2k from Covers last July I had no problems at all. Transferred the money from PayPal to my credit union without a hitch. |

#9 Posted: 3/28/2012 3:18:13 PM wall street journal March 7. 2012: pay pal threatens to limit accounts of book publishers and sellers if pay pal disapproves of the books being published or sold.
Pay pal backed down after a uproar from the publishers and first amendment defenders. See wall street journal March 13. Pay Pal seems to think they can control commerce allowing only the commerce they approve of.

#11 Posted: 4/7/2012 12:16:03 AM Is there anyone who won 25k at Streak Survivor and has problems with PayPal account? Because if you don`t have problems with 25k, you will probably have no troubles with 100k. If there was any problem, I am pretty sure that Covers wouldn't approve sending money via PayPal.

#13 Posted: 4/29/2012 8:04:00 PM it only works if the bank account name exactly matches the pay pal registration. Prior to a few months ago i believe a match was not required. |

#17 Posted: 5/10/2012 10:00:10 AM I've had plenty of problems with them and closed my acct. years ago.Used to sell on e-bay and they were notorious for freezing accts. or not helping you get paid by people who won your auctions..
Most recently came in 2'nd in the Spring Baseball Contest and couldn't collect the prize..Only $500 but never did collect it and surely never will..Thats why I left this site again and don't bother with contests here anymore or stopping in for that matter..Just heard about this thread and figured I'd stop in to let people know of my experience with them..Good luck collecting to any contest winners..Never a problem when it was WL and I won the College Football Contest with username jjnow..Just thought I had to make another acct. when I came back so thats why the different username..Doesn't matter though as I'm done at this site.. |

#19 Posted: 5/13/2012 6:44:23 AM to solve this problem, when you know you are in for a cash prize on covers, contact your paypal and tell them so. In this way, they would be expecting a larger than average deposit into your paypal account by a 3rd party other than your bank.
If covers is playing dirty then I wouldn't be surprise if the lock account with no one claiming will paypal give the money back to the original sender, covers.
sneaky I might say so myself.

#21 Posted: 5/27/2012 8:07:17 PM I hope this site works things out with members who don't use pp. I had various issues with them over the years which ultimately led me to close my account which I will never re-open again. Kind of dangerous to let a company that doesn't have to follow any type of banking laws handling large amounts of money. They do as they please which is scary. Not much that much protection for the consumer. Hopefully they'd be willing to cut a check like the old times for those of us who aren't comfortable with pp.

Covers is the best... I don't and won't use Pay Pal... and when I won cash here on Covers, I contacted Lou and explained my situation... within 2 days, they wired the money straight into my bank account... and actually sent more than I won, to cover any bank charges.
Covers...

Trotter,
That is really great to hear! I also refuse to, can't, and won't ever use paypal again. So your experience here is great to hear!

Without question...Covers does the right thing, above and beyond. I have won cash, hats, hoodies, free plays (when they had sportsbooks as sponsors) and never had an issue, not once.
Have no worries... you play, you win... you get paid, just that simple. |
