Redd is nothing to write home about...

2010

Att: 77     Yds: 437

2011

Att: 244     Yds: 1241

Break that down >>>

Att: 77   Yds: 437

Att: 77   Yds: 437

Att: 77   Yds: 437

_______________

Att: 121     Yds: 1311  > difference 70 yds..

It's took him 123 more attempts to avg 1241 yds so he didn't improve playing year (2) at Penn State.

Him being a candidate for the 2012 Doak Walker Award is for RB's.

With....accomplishments in his classroom and citizenship in his commuity not just playing football.

Lucan, i disagree.  He was the consensus 4th RB in the 2010 HS senior class,

penn st passing game was avg at best in 2010 and 2011,  the o-line was decent but nothing special,

without him last yr, they win 6 gms not 9

The coach should let these players think it through. Their stock is higher now than it was when they signed the letter of intent. Imagine the choices several of these players have. This is LIFE. Sure there are going to be players that didn't get the offers of some of their team mates and will drop the quality of play if they leave, but TEAM is for 1,2,3, or 4 years and then it's LIFE. Your on your own for most of these guys and there is no way he is getting everyone on a pro team that wants to play pro. It just boils down to what kind of memory you want to make.

Correction

221 attempts not 121

221 att for 1311 yds  >> 70 yards difference (based on 77 att at 437 yds)...

2011

244 att for 1241 yds

Grid,

I believe what made Penn State a competive team last year was their defense not Redd, maybe he will play better behind USC OL they do have better talent then Penn State.

well yes their D was good but their passing game was putrid.  their running game was decent and i really think it was Redd.  he's one of the better RB recruits theyve had in a long time, as he was the consenus #4 HS RB as i mentioned, he can really run, and USC is after him as you know like no one's business,

Penn St was mainly "good" last year because of a fairly weak schedule....FORGET common SOS ratings including Steele's...they are flawed....it's not only WHO you play...but WHERE....and WHEN...in the schedule

 7 of 1st 10 at home....favored in 8
     *Indiana St > Bama > E Mich > Iowa > Purdue > Illinois > Nebraska
Road games at Temple > Indiana > NW

Finishing at 6-7 Ohio St > at Wisky

Passing?...vs winning teams
5.3 yds/att   #106
43%            #119 (only Army worse)
PR              # 116
159 yds/g    # 98
    TO was 305/g...4.4/play.......#101

vs    Bama...Neb...Ohio St...Wisky
50-117/560 yds...1/3
43% .....4.8 /att
*absolutely terrible....their offense has gotten worse every year since it peaked in 2008

Redd got 1200 yds on this team?.....pretty good
*reckon he saw an 8 man front or two?.....

He looks like a 2nd-3rd round pick or better at this point.....his leaving would have more of a psychological effect than anything (probably)....he's their best player so staying would be HUGE...
because more players would be likely to stay as well...reverse is true if he leaves....but maybe more devastating to the Ducks than the Nittany Lions...

USC may have committed recruiting violations with Redd, becuz a backup qb spoke to the press about it

A USC fan myself, this is unbelievable and probably just cost us some Redd.

So the team is hanging tough and staying together...let's see where they are after the dust settles, the emotion goes away, and they're tumbling toward the Big 10 cellar as this season progresses.

This is an unprecedented situation in my lifetime of following college football...but I'm guessing plenty of players will rethink their future after this season.

I don't fault any coach for inquiring with certain players where they stand at PSU...everybody loses in this unthinkable scenario...may as well make the best of it and move on if you need to.

it's a secondary violation, if Redd wants to be at USC, he will be at USC,

this secondary violation cannot stop the transfer
