Learning of Joe Paterno's death. Heartbroken over the news having been a Penn State student and a Penn State football fan over the last 4 decades. Thanks for all the football memories Joe Paterno.  All my prayers go out to the Paterno family. Rest in Peace Joe Paterno

We love you Joe, you did so good for so many....as he would say "my wins and losses are not my football record, they are how many kids i graduate and how many students i can help receive education and a further being in life"

many loved him, but none will love him more than heaven.

at least he can rest in peace and leave this media driven world of scum.  i know he's happier.

Well said guys.

Joe was something special. I think for Penn Staters everywhere, a little bit of us all just died today.

We would like to pass our sympathies and prayers on to Coach Paterno’s family. This is certainly a difficult day for the Penn State Family as we mourn the loss of our beloved coach and friend. Joe stood for everything that is right about College Football, but most importantly life itself. He has given so much to our university and we will never be able to say thanks the way it really should be said.

It’s now up to our family, the Penn State Family, to pen the final chapter of Joe’s life. We must defend his legacy and make sure he is remembered for who he was and what he did and not the public smear campaign that has taken place over the last several months. We all know Joe deserves better, it’s up to us to make sure that happens.

We will miss you coach. In our mind we see you up there with the Bear, going at it like the two legends you are and always will be. One word of advice though coach, avoid the straight dive if you get into a goal line situation. We love you coach, we will miss you, Saturdays will never be the same. We Are… Heart Broken…. You Are… Penn State,

God Bless Joe Paterno.

The best college football coach ever to live.

Joe and Sue built State College with their own hands and money.

Every PSU alumn like myself is forever indebted to Joe and Sue Paterno.

Rest in peace sir.

We are!

Nobody cares outside of the cult that is UPEEN.....JO PA sanctioned, allowed, and condoned the rape of boys. Sad reality, isn't it?  His "legacy" was more important. Why, he never "heard of rape and a man"....

What a POS.....

Actually, YOU are the POS.  Joe "sanctioned, allowed, and condoned the rape of boys" you say.  Listen to yourself,  you are a friggin pig and disgrace to the human race saying stupid things like that.  People like you actually vote ?  Scary.

The problem is that you just think we're all irrational Penn Staters blinded by some form of misguided hero worship. The actual truth is that we're the only ones who care enough to actually read and understand the entire story and form our own opinions instead of just blindly eating and regurgitating the story that the media tries to spoon-feed, like you're doing. Once you actually dig into what's going on, you start to ask yourself questions like "If Paterno was trying to cover this up and protect Sandusky, why would he tell anyone anything?". Phil Knight had it right. There was a truckload of people that had a crack at stopping Sandusky years ago, from Janitors, to the State College DA, to Curley & Schultz, all the way up to Graham Spanier. None of those people did anything. Paterno and McQueary were literally the only ones who even attempted to get this looked at. You can have your opinions all you want, but if your opinions are based on half-truths and interpretations instead of the actual story, and you decide to broadcast those opinions on the internet, you should expect to be called out on
