I could see that.  Take your dirty money, bet both sides, pay the juice (10% juice is cheaper than a money launderer most of the time) and come back with clean money.

You can't stop saying it in your post.

Vegas has always been the cheap vacation destination of choice for middle-class Americans. I can get a room at the Rio for $39 as I type.

Your post reeks pomposity and a changing of the guard in terms of who Vegas wants to cater to. (well they've always wanted whales an only whales but what's a whale without an ocean of plankton?)

The middle and lower class Americans were once Vegas' bread and butter. Now you go in the shops in Ceasar's and the stores are so high end, I'm hesitant to even ask the price of a Starbucks coffee.

So let the chefs, high-end stores and the casino pit bosses cater to all the whales they want. When the Vegas scene dissipates because the average joe stops showing up, the rich will get bored because their Lamborghinis and Versace suits won't get attention.

In a sense, Vegas' business plan (which you seem to be a part of) includes the fine print: "Fu** ourselves"

The little guy will never stop "showing up". Where in the world can you stay at a hotel/casino as good as the Rio for $39.

The little guy can afford those prices and the cheap air fare to get to LV. The little guy goes for the fantasy of pretending to be rich. You can only do that in LV.

Sorry, LV will never go away. No matter what AC does or if internet gambling becomes legal.

Scalabrine....

Sorry you felt that way....you might have missed the posts where I also say that "vegas is still the best vacation value in the US"...regardless of what level it is that you are looking at.

My point in this thread was to show the direction that Vegas has been taking for over 10 years now...away from the Dunes, Desert Inn, Riviera places and toward Wynn, Venetian, CityCenter.

I am not an advocate of one over the other....loved the days when I stayed at the Dunes (now where the Bellagio is) and would bet at the sportsbooks on the Strip.....eat a $5.99 steak dinner....and come out to Vegas 15-20 times a year.

So, sorry if I offended you with my version of the "Vegas evolution"...also, I do not have any action in Vegas itself, I am outside the city limits with my investments.

This would be great, inevitably online gambling will become legalized.  MGM and Harrahs for sure want first dibs.  Once internet gambling becomes legal the handles will be through the roof and these guys are going to be making so much freakin money on NFL that you wont have to worry about college games being "fixed".  It will be nice to deposit/withdraw easily.

I dunno if down the road there will be enough people losing their fools and getting on 60 minutes to get it banned if online gaming becomes legal once it happens it should be here to stay.  I really do not see too much fallout.  As VG repeatedly says sports betting is way off the radar of 99% of people even if it becomes legal I dunno if everyone who plays fantasy will just deposit 50 bucks in an account instead.  Once you get the ball rolling though it will become an industry that grows steadily for 20 years.

LOL at Sharron Angle, if the Republicans could have run whoever she beat in the primarys theyd have swept the floor with Reid.

I have to think until this point Reid has been ardently against expanding gaming in the US as it would take away from Nevada's tourism.
