#103 Posted: 8/23/2012 8:21:35 AM Junior linebacker Khalil Mack was suspended for a violation of team rules just days after he got into a fight with teammate Fred Lee, The Buffalo News has learned. Mack has not been permitted to participate in team activities and isn't allowed on campus, according to a source. Mack's involvement in the incident is apparently more extensive than Lee's who is not under suspension and participated in practice Monday on a limited basis. Mack, who was absent from practice on Monday, missed last Saturday's intersquad scrimmage, and UB coach Jeff Quinn declined to shed further light on the suspension or Mack's return. "It's being handled," Quinn said. "Right now it's a day-by-day situation but it's being handled. It's the right way to do it." UB athletics director Danny White declined comment other than to say the program is following normal protocol for disciplining student athletes and that the situation will be handled with tremendous integrity, character and address what's best for the student athletes. UB cannot afford to be without Mack for an extended period. In two seasons with the Bulls, Mack has 133 total tackles, 35 tackles for loss and 10 sacks and is already tied for the program record with seven forced fumbles. According to nfldraftscout.com, the 6-foot-3, 245-pound Mack is one of the top 25 outside linebackers available from the Class of 2014. When asked about how much Mack means to the team, Quinn said he addressed the team after practice on the importance of his expectations. "We have high expectations for all of them, we have 105 out here, and they're all important," Quinn said. "They all have the ability to contribute, every single one of them is important and they know what my expectations are and the good thing is we're constantly growing and we're constantly learning." No other UB defensive player, however, has been named to both the Nagurski and Lombardi watch lists. Only tailback Branden Oliver, who became the school's single-season rushing leader in 2011, has received national recognition on the level of Mack. |

Alabama's most experienced running back, Eddie Lacy, is among those. But
UA coach Nick Saban indicated positive news where Lacy's knee and ankle
sprains are concerned.
"Eddie has practiced a little the last two days. We'll try to continue to progress him," Saban said.

First of all....congrats on actually THINKING about these match-ups...if more would do it instead of just throwing out drunken sports bar type BS....we could actually have a useful wagering forum........
several implications.....
* neither has done THAT well is the obvious .....not BOTH have been so great > you can't pick!.... as Gator homers might say
* this game (vs BG) will be used as an audition kinda...to see who might step up in game conditions >which suggests that Gators will be running their top units for longer than they might otherwise *that's assuming that Driskel is cleared to play (shoulder)
PROBLEM?...this is a VERY complicated offense...and the THIRD year in a row with a drastic system change....Urban's wacky O > Weis' pro-style > Boise spread/ multiple looks/shifts/motion stuff.....
SURE.....Gators ......(could)......wake up in a big way and win 59-3 or so.................................................but
*does that really make sense?.....a well oiled machine ......firing on all cylinders?......> penalties?...missed assignments?.....all may occur as players are having to THINK way too much
Bowling Green was one of the nation's youngest teams LY.....33 in the 2 deep were Fr or Soph........D was terrible yes....but started 5 Fr ....at one time had 10 freshman on the field at once (so they say)......historically a tough dog...with a pretty good 3 yr st QB + Clawson's best OL + huge TE's / talented WR's + better than decent RB *they were 5-7 yes but lost 3-4 games on the last play....... ***LY got drilled by W Vag 55-10....and in 2010 did lose to Michigan 65-21..........but watch-out when comparing these later games (with MAC games on deck)......as these coaches will often rest key players....which is what Clawson did
Another twist here?.....For confidence sake.... Gators need a huge blowout yes...but do have > @ A&M > @ Tenn > Kentucky on deck.....so really need a clean/polished scrimmage like effort.....just getting out with no injuries.....which may mean falling asleep late...and the Falcons are very back door capable *both teams are 'play on' for me this year....here I will stay away....but would lean BG......slightly

Thanks Bookie, looks like we're seeing the same thing on this one. I believe solid handicapping comes from a thorough understanding of the situational matchups that any game on the board provides, and the relationship between those matchups and the number that is provided us to make the wager.Good insight as usual. Thanks again. Best of Luck throughout the season.

Hey bookie, I never thought I 'd see that name again in my lifetime. There used to be a db from Oklahoma with the same name.Every time Keith Jackson would say it he would call him Wonder for short. Getting to my previous post for a moment, are there any other teams out there beginning the season using a 2 QB rotation that you know of? I'm thinking I may want to pass on them until the position is settled. Thanks Bud.

#120 Posted: 8/26/2012 12:16:34 PM Thanks for the info bud.I just think under most situations, a team will not reach it's full potential until that situation is finally resolved. Thanks again dude, you are a wellspring of information.Blessings.

yeah that looks like a (very) reasonable number don't it?.. Huskies lose a lot....but Iowa just doesn't seem to care too much about these type games...usually a much larger spread tho.....so ........m a y b e......
what's left? So Damon Bullock > WR LY....switched to RB.....10 carries for 20 yds or so
then 2 true Fr... Greg Garmon > busted for weed over the summer Michael Malloy > off torn ACL his Sr year..........

Does it look like Graham will be able to go in this one? If not, I'll have to pass on it.A healthy Graham makes up somewhat for Sunseri's shortcomings.Too many bad decisions/picks.
