#30 Posted: 9/14/2012 2:25:21 AM The eagles have been pass happy for ever, rarely do they have balance.56 atempts for vick last week is insane! they should rush 56 times. this alone will get vick killed again early in the year.
Over looks like best bet. |

#33 Posted: 9/14/2012 10:42:50 AM Thank you for the great write up. Very informative, and made me think against what I'm leaning this weekend on this game. The biggest factor for me in this game is the attitude and mentality of the two teams coming in. I agree this game should be a letdown for the Ravens but I don't believe the on field coach/and team pumper upper, Ray Lewis will allow this team to over hype themselves. The Ravens have a much better outlook for the game of football. The Eagles are a bunch of thugs that will turn this into a street fight. The more Vick gets raddled the worse he gets.
On paper I agree with you on the Eagles. But this game is played with emotion. On paper it's very close. Emotionally the Ravens have a huge edge. If the Eagles get behind early, they will force the ball and create turnovers.
All that said I respect your write up and your opinions, but I play a lot of games with the added aspect of mentality and emotion for the teams playing. Things stats can't show.

#34 Posted: 9/14/2012 12:53:18 PM Great ink Stuck....Ravens 2-8 ATS after a MNF game....We know who comes to town next week.....Ravens need to seal the edge or McCoy will torch them...Flacco running the no huddle on the road ???...They should remember the egg they laid in Tennessee last year..Harbaugh will make sure of that....Great game....Be there next Sunday night....Can't wait... |

#35 Posted: 9/14/2012 1:11:34 PM Stuckey don't even bother betting this game! Just go watch it, cheer for the Ravens have fun and learn something. There are too many other games you can make money on. I'm on the Dolphins and Texans big this week. The Jaguars have the worst defensive line that I've seen in a long time. These guys across the board are all awful. I wouldn't be surprised to see Tate and Foster combine for 200-250 yards. I'm not even exaggerating it could happen easily. They have no pass rush from their front 4 whatsoever. Only way they can bring pressure is by blitzing. Against Miami( A far, FAR superior front 7) they did lots of max protection and kept alot of people in to block whenever they threw. This leads me to believe that Jax will get no pressure on Schaub. They also have talked about it in the offseason, and you could see it watching the game but Houston wants to attack more vertically this year. They threw the deep ball a ton vs. Miami and with time time Schaub will pick Jax apart. Don't be fooled by that stats-Gabbert is still awful. He doesn't go through reads, stares down receivers, and even worse predetermines his throws. Vikings couldn't capitalze but the Texans with a week of preparation and a much better defense than Minny will. The LG,C,RG, and RT are all awful-especially in pass protection. Any time minny lined up over the center they pushed meester 3 yards back into the backfield. With a 3-4 they will have a noseguard the entire game. JJ watt will own everyone of those shitty lineman. Jax could have some success running the ball because their line is good at RB and MJD looked good but they will have to abandon the run at somepoint. Blowout city.

#39 Posted: 9/14/2012 2:00:10 PM Stcuk,
This game does have me worried because I hate when the Ravens get all hype. It never works out. Flacco has shown to follow great games with stinkers. Will it change this year? I think they will handle the rushing D Line with a lot of trap draws from the shotgun and let the ends run themselves right out of the play. I do think they will huddle more, but I also think they will be running a lot more out of the no huddle shotgun. That trap draw they run almost to perfection. Eagles had a closed practice for like the first time in years. What could they be working on? Maybe Vick's backup is getting more reps and they dont want the media blowing that up? Maybe the D is working up some new blitzes and formations to deal with the no huddle?
Injuries are huge in this game, If Maclin doesnt play I will be doing back flips. I was not impressed at all with the Ravens D until the game got out of hand and they can just pin their ears back. Maybe Upshaw starts this week? Jeez maybe they should sign Carter for more pass rush??????????????
In any event I lean the Eagles with McCoy but I am just going to sit back and root my behind off for the Ravens to go 2-0 heading back to Balty to face those guy from New England.

#40 Posted: 9/14/2012 2:21:42 PM Balt's coach used to work for Reid, He knows everything Reid will do! Balt will out coach Reid all day, this game is all Balt by end of third, with only Ravens fans left in the stands for the 4th quarter, cause they have stopped selling beer by then! and if philly aint winning! then they must be drinking!! |

#43 Posted: 9/14/2012 2:35:58 PM It really comes down to Vick's picks. He throws a lot, they lose. He throws none, they win. I don't know if I can justify wagering on him. I really want to, everything else is a go, but he's so erratic...wish they had a different QB.

#44 Posted: 9/14/2012 3:20:07 PM Agree with you 100%. The only play to me is the Eagles. Last 2 years Ravens opened with a win over a tough opponent (Steelers and Jets) then proceeded to go on the road in week 2 and lose to and inferior Bengals and Titans team. Vick looked horrendous last week but the odds are he will bounce back and have a decent game. Am not impressed with the Ravens run defense and I am afraid McCoy runs for over 100 yards which will open the passing game. I also agree that the look ahead factor could come into play. You know the Ravens circled the Sept. 23 game against the Pats on their calendar to exact revenge for losing the AFC title game last year, just like they did last year when they blew Pittsburgh out in the firsat game of the season getting even for losing the playoff game to them in 2010. The only way I see the Ravens winning this game if they do so in a shootout, which I don't think will happen. Eagles win this one 27-20, IMO |

#45 Posted: 9/14/2012 3:30:16 PM With Revis out, this matchup becomes strong in favor of the steelers. Kyle Wilson will be exposed and they now need to rely on those safeties flying around and they must get pressure on Ben. |

#46 Posted: 9/14/2012 4:24:47 PM GREAT STUFF - big thanks. Thought Cincin played well in first 1/2 and law firm actually had some strong runs. Boldin ball def. hit turf & should have been over turned. Flacco had way too much time and Ray-Ray's just Ray-Ray. Then in 4th Q your "D" just imposed it's will. In the Not for Long League I can cetainly agree with all your points that lean towards the Igles. Pitta might just be difference in your favor - BOL |

#47 Posted: 9/14/2012 7:43:52 PM Don't worry Stucky, Andy Reid will darn it up by running it 10 times and passing it 50. I'm picking the Ravens. |

#48 Posted: 9/14/2012 10:15:58 PM BALTIMORE is taking 92% of action on game so as indicated public loves the RAVENS this week. Not much to add to this excellent write up by 'Stuckey' except the point that MVick was extremely rusty in WK 1 as he only threw 8 passes in preseason. Also, Eagles beat Browns handily in WK 3 of preseason so all of the psychological factors pointed to BROWNS playing better in the match up. All of the subtle stuff points to a play on the EAGLES this week. |

#49 Posted: 9/15/2012 5:39:52 AM 49ers once and for all do NOT turn the ball over and convert 3rd downs and Detroit? Plus Jim Harbaugh is worth points and his teams very rarely let down... they're on a mission this year and in this game by the 4th qtr Det will make the turnovers to not cover...worse D, worse running game, spells INT's in a comeback mode and SF pulled out so many covers like this last year-it's fundamental...but GL to you and nice thinking overall...I think the only play on your Ravens is the over-I think your D is definitely weaker and O better with the no-huddle so-like last Monday-this could be the best bet the first month, plus Philly will play way better offensively than last week... |
