i get what u're sayin skeet but it's a jungle out there in the fantasy land of sports...consider this: if you're a fan over there on the frozen steppes wouldn't you rather shell out ur hard-earned rubles to watch gene malkin dancing than poor ol leadfoot igor moonlighting from his job at the lada plant...

#3 Posted: 9/24/2012 7:45:19 PM yes this is true, but you have to remember that an athelete has a limited window of opportunity.only the greats get past 36 years of age.as much as it sucks they have to put money in thier pockets while they can |

#8 Posted: 9/26/2012 12:22:33 PM I think that it puts pressure on Bettman to settle. the NHL isn't like the other "major" sports in that there are oodles of foreign players, esp Russians, that don't HAVE to play in the NHL to make a good living.
Bettman needs to sober up. |

#10 Posted: 9/27/2012 5:59:36 PM Most of the owners are making money with all their other businesses....... Hockey is like an "afterthought'' to them.... I say most if not all..................................
Concerning the players...??... I agree with what you say skeeter... It doe's put someone out of work and I don't buy the " all business does it for better workers''............. I do buy the " its fucked or get fucked" way of life we live as individuals..... The fringe guy's in Europe are screwed....... I'm sure they understand, yet still hate the NHL guy putting him out of work....
Any of these guys (NHL) can pretty much get a job making decent money anywhere in US or Canada........... But they do need to stay sharp............. Just in case they have to earn the little amount of money the NHL are paying them, so they can party and be role models and get laid and live life to the fullest because "as they say", you only live once"......... So live life to the fullest and "the heck" with everybody else......????????????.... Canadian player's are no different than U.S. and European stars..
