#27 Posted: 3/27/2012 1:35:03 PM the whole point of betting futures mid season is getting value on teams you expect to overperform moving forward. There is no value on betting |

#28 Posted: 3/27/2012 1:39:09 PM There is no value on betting any of the favorites at this point. bulls, heat, thunder, lakers all have the same odds now as they will 4 weeks from now beforw the playoffs start. If anything, their odds will go up and you will get a better line later on. you need to project which team is going to play well, better than they have been, over the next 4 weeks. the best team that comes to mind is the grizzlies to win the west at +1500. these odds should go down drastically if they finish the season strong and get the 4 seed. |

#29 Posted: 3/27/2012 1:45:15 PM As an example, i locked in the spurs to win the west @+800 back in january. their odds arw now +400. That was a good bet. i locked in twolves to win the west @ +8000 before rubio got hurt, thinking they were in a great position to move up from 9 th place and into the 6 th or 7 th seed, at which point their odds would drop to + 2000. however rubio got hurt and fucked that bet. thats the risk you take with betting futures mid-season
But in the case of the twolves, the odds are still +8000, so i didnt really lose any value. if you bet one of the favorites now, say bulls +180 to win the east, and rose is done for the season, those odds will plumet to +1000 or worse, and you lose a ton of value |

#30 Posted: 3/27/2012 1:48:34 PM If you really like one of the favorites to win, the best way to get value and make the most money is to do series by series rolling bets, where you carry foward your winning on that team to the next series. |

#35 Posted: 4/14/2012 1:27:37 PM bob696969- true the point of a futures is to get value on a team, but its also to pick the team thats gonna win it. there is no value in picking the twolves +8000 because they had about a zero percent chance of wining even with rubio. |
