#2 Posted: 3/18/2012 3:02:18 PM thats a nice team but what style u play ? if its Head to Head you should do very well..
Votto/Cano/Upton/Bruce are a great core of players plus Aramis had a decent year last season as long as he can keep that going this year and Cabrera was great last year.. i think his hr's will drop off slightly from 25 but he's another solid option at a position thats tough to fill..
Upton is so young and could have a Huge season if he gets his average up some but he steals, hits hr, alot of rbi's and scores. Cano's the best second basemen in the game and Votto's a stud at 1B...i like Avila and think he's a solid option at a position thats hard to fill.. at least he'll hit for a decent avg and hit 20+ hr's for u.
your sv's are good and personally i think u have 2 of the top 5 closers, starting pitching isnt great though. Lester and latos are solid but not high on Cueto or Nova, Marcum is decent
Howard might miss alot of time and had a setback with a bad infection on that achilles injury.. he's a huge question mark and noone will know how he'll perform until he gets back if and when that happens..
i would say overall you should try and get another good SP and watch the waiver wire to add better depth to your BN
GL with your season |

#3 Posted: 3/19/2012 3:52:38 PM Thanks phillyfan. Yes, it's a head to head league. I took Howard later in the draft when I was picking reserves, I was shocked that he was still out there. I'm hoping he does come back soon and could pay off big. Maybe use Howard as a trade chip to try and improve my pitching? |

#4 Posted: 3/20/2012 10:10:24 AM A guy offered a trade in my league, he is offering Fister and Pence for Upton. I think it will upgrade my pitching a little bit and Pence is similar to Upton. |

#7 Posted: 3/22/2012 8:16:51 PM You're hitting is very good, but I'd feel a lot better about your team if you could add 1 more stud pitcher. Maybe dangle Montero or Gordon out there and see if you could get a Matt Garza, Jordan Zimmermann, Bumgarner, or Dan Hudson.

#8 Posted: 3/23/2012 12:31:59 PM Thanks Brewcrew. I was debating about possibly trading Alex Gordon. He was supposed to be such a good prospect but doesn't seem like he lived up to expectations in past years. I thought maybe he would have a breakout year this year. One guy is dangling Hellickson. What do you think about him? I'm not sure what hes asking for him though. |

#9 Posted: 3/24/2012 3:15:26 AM I like Hellickson. I know a lot of people are down on him bc of his low k/9 last yr and his xfip being 4.72. The thing is before last year his lowest k/9 was 8.17. I personally feel that because he was on an innings limit he was pitching more to contact than showcase his swing and miss stuff. I'd offer Montero for Hellickson first, but I would give Gordon for Hellickson if need be.
Disclaimer: I'm not a Rays fan and I do not own Hellickson on any of my teams :)

What do you think?
Hey Sabres, with no disrespect I think your team has potential but unless it gets better you will finish middle of the pack your pitching is lacking a true stud and you have many question marks in your hitting with Gordon who can't stay healthy and we are all waiting on him to blossom and it just hasnt happened and ARAM he was a poor hitter away from wrigley and now he will have to adjust to a new team Jesus Montero?? really?? I guess he can be trade bait if amounts to anything but I think you should have gambled on some pitching instead
Hopefully when Howard comes back he will provide some more punch for ya but it looks as though you may have to trade away some hitting for some pitching or scour the waiver wire closely GL

Considering I drafted him in the 14th rd, I thought it was a good pick. He is also eligiable at catcher as well. He did pretty damn good for the short time that he was up in the majors last season. No reason why he couldn't be a candidate to win the AL ROY award. I think Lester is my stud pitcher, and I know I still need some better pitching but he is an ace regardless of what happened to the red sox last season. |
