#2 Posted: 3/26/2012 11:56:03 PM Dont do Sushi Roku......not really in Ceasars, is in Ceasars Forum Shops so is literally a 20 minute walk to casino. Unless you are flying to vegas to eat sushi in a mall setting Sushi Roku is not your place. Some other fantastic Sushi alternatives are Mandalay Bay, Wynn. |

I've eaten at Shibuya a couple times. It's good, but nothing special. I love Japanese food/sushi too. Honestly, I was just too lazy to walk out of the hotel for a better selection. It's consistent but nothing spectacular. If you must eat in the MGM and want a great dining experience, I recommend Craftsteak. |

Ive been to vegas 7-8 times and never eaten sushj/sashimi which is crazy considering how much I love it but I cant resist metro wings and virtually live off them during my stays with the occasional visit to Vic@Anthony's.. But I am looking for a spectacular experience and will pass on Shibuya and Roku....Thx for the heads up everyone....BarMasa looking tasty....any other suggestions are welcome |

This. I mean of course it's not "bad", but I wasn't blown away by Shibuaya. Honestly, I enjoy the casual Grand Wok at MGM just as much. Craftsetak is the special restaurant at MGM. I'm still in search of a great Japanese place in Vegas, haven't found it yet.

#8 Posted: 4/1/2012 12:48:32 PM I had dinner last Friday at Blue Ribbon at the Cosmo and thought it was really good. The scenery there inside and outside the place is worth the trip over. |

#9 Posted: 4/2/2012 9:33:50 PM If you are planning on spending $400 for sushi, Nobu in the Hard Rock Hotel. Simple. Research it, |

#11 Posted: 4/7/2012 7:13:29 PM Masa Takayama is, imho, the best.....his restaurant in NYC inspired me to be more aggressive in accepting the uniqueness that is Japanese cuisine....
Shaboo is where I would spend my hard-earned money......my earlier comment on BarMasa still remains (albeit for a lesser budget). |

#12 Posted: 4/8/2012 7:58:04 AM Thanks VegasGourmet. In reading over the previous posts, I obviously skipped over your earlier point, my apologies. After reading your response about BarMasa, I did a quick search, and I came across this:
",,,Restaurant Masa garnered the Michelin Guide's highest rating starting in the 2009 edition and was the first Japanese restaurant in the U.S. to do so.[6][7] It is one of only seven restaurants in New York City to currently hold a four out of four star rating by The New York Times.[8] It has also received five out of five stars in the Forbes Travel Guide (formerly known as the Mobil Guide).[9]"
Granted, this is speaking of his NYC restaurant and these types of ratings need to be used with a keen eye. Nonetheless, BarMasa sounds like a great place, I definately learned something through this thread and will give BarMasa a try. |
