Federal tax rate on lottery winnings is 25% and every state has a different tax rate. In Michigan it is 4.35%.

UPDATE: Michigan's Department of Human Services has cut the $200 a month payments to Clayton, according to the LA Times. Her case has been turned over to state anti-fraud officials.

  It could very well be her fault she is poor.  How can you assume it's not?
