#101 Posted: 2/21/2011 4:12:35 PM I also noticed that when Vegas and KP have a different team favored, KP was 11-4-1

If Kenpom computers have Team A winning by 3 (-3) and the Vegas line comes out at Team B -2, over the long run, it is better to take Team B at -2 since there is probably a reason that we are unaware of that favors Team B. It is merely a way to keep you from being a square bettor. However, keep in mind that squares win sometimes too.
It took 2.5 pages to find someone who finally understood what the OP was saying.
Is the betting world this stupid? If so, there may be hope that it's possible to win in the long term. Absolutely amazed at how many people failed to comprehend this simple concept.

As for the smelly lines, it didn't work when I bet on Stanford this past Thursday when they played UCLA. It had the exact same lines and line movement as the CAL-Ucla gm. I guess if u look at all the smelly lines, I'm sure 50% hit and 50% don't
You're "sure" of this, and also wrong.

College of Charleston stands out among these. Any others?

These are his predictions vs vegas lines. Most are very close. Also been looking at total variances, again very close. Not sure I see anything there. |

#107 Posted: 2/21/2011 5:54:33 PM For Tomherst: On the main page @ Kenpom.com, you just need to find the heading that reads "FANMATCH". Click on that heading and you will see his lines under wher it says "Predictions". From there you can also go forward or back on the schedule by clicking the dates listed under Fanmatch. I hope this helps.

#108 Posted: 2/21/2011 5:54:36 PM When I first looked at all i saw was a bunch of numbers and was dumbfounded.
Then I looked the menu and clicked on fanmatch. I believe this is what you're looking for. they have the predicted score, you have to subtract the difference. http://kenpom.com/fanmatch.php |

#111 Posted: 2/21/2011 11:54:00 PM I tried your system with a couple parlays, small bets. 5 and 2 bucks. the $5 i used on the money line favs. Villa, Furry, Valpo, and Prairie. Only hit on Praire.
Then did a $2 parlay on covering spreads. Kans, Charley, Morgan, Did hit that one and threw another 10 Morgan just to cover.
Interesting system knowing that there are no guarantees, but it's nice to see a predicted score outcome. If anything I should've bet one Moneyline game and would've been Praire at home.
I need that extra bit of knowledge to try and help me with handicapping.
My sytem is basically take the best team playing at the time with points scored, field goal and free throw percentages, and 3 point shots, and then throw in some trend studying. And try to stick to home favorites, try that is :)
good luck with it |
