#1 Posted: 1/10/2013 9:33:25 PM Going to do a little series here once a week detailing teams we should be on the lookout for next year
Up first are my Miami Hurricanes
Returning Starters: Offense-11, Defense 11
Miami basically returns every starter on offense except for Mike James who was replaced by Duke Johnson at end of year anyway. The key here is that the entire offensive line returns! This will also be the third year under offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch for Senior Stephen Morris. The offense was explosive for the most part of the 2012 season except for a few hiccups. The OLine is a veteran group that is a strength of Miami.
On defense Miami loses stud CB Brandon McGee to the draft and lose Thomas Finnie due to him being involved in a laptop theft. This group was the achilles heal of this tean last year yet showed bright spots at times. They thing to remember here is that this hroup was YOUNG. Freshmen played and started at the following positions. CB, DT, DE, LB, and S. A year of expereince and another summer of workouts will really help. I feel this unit will be greatly improved next year.
Schedule: Miami has a favorable schedule due to them leaving Florida for only the following games: Virginia Tech and North Carolina. This means Miami will be playing every other game in the state of Florida including many at home.
Key Matchups: Florida @Florida State @North Carolina @Virginia Tech
This team went undefeated ATS the ACC last season. I still feel oddsmakers will have trouble judging Miami thus giving another year of favorable lines |
