No one knows what the offense will be like |

#110 Posted: 8/18/2012 8:23:56 PM I like Ohio St., not because of defense so much though. I like the other side of the ball. One thing you will see with Urban Myer that you never saw with Tressel is running up the score. Urban Myer is a coach that could less about showing mercy to a team he's knows he'll beat. I can see Myer throwing ball deep into the 4th just to get the offense some game time reps with that spread system.
...... but yes! As always the OSU defense will be strong. I live in Columbus, hear the talk, work on campus, and see the players all time. This team is ready.

They did beat EMU by 50+ a couple years back....with 30+ pts being scored in the second half.
JT was shady (yes, even at YSU)....but he was decent ATS. |

#112 Posted: 8/18/2012 9:39:14 PM I love Ohio State. It has actually become my top play over Bama. 22.5 really seriously seems like a gift from the heavens. Not sure if Miami of Ohio even sees the end zone in that one. |

#114 Posted: 8/19/2012 10:09:51 AM Really strong looking card, Boom. I'm with you on UF, OSU, OU, and Mich. St; not on the opposite side of any of your games. Keep an eye out for UCLA on Thursday - Bruins are going to cover that 15.5....

#119 Posted: 8/19/2012 7:15:09 PM I guess my question is why the lean? Are you waiting for it to shoot up to 14 or higher closer to kick off? |

#120 Posted: 8/19/2012 7:20:08 PM the fact that boom likes Michigan kinda scares me. He's right tho you cant lose so many key players on defense and just expect them to be the same defensive juggernaut they were last year. Nonetheless I still like Bama in that game I think their recruits should be just as good and should be able to step up to the plate. LB core still gonna be solid. I hate to fade Boom tho lol |

#121 Posted: 8/19/2012 8:35:58 PM Last season way before it started I talked about how good Bama's defense would be, and it was. This season.... it's still gonna be good. But just not IMO, as good as last years defense. Now with that being said, I do think Bama is a top 5, top 10 type defense.
But the biggest difference between this year and last year is one simple thing..... experience. Is Michigan gonna beat Alabama? I dont think so, but im not totally ruling it out. Reason is, the thing I just spoke about. Experience. Michigan is gonna be a solid offensive team with arguably the hardest guy to tackle in the nation in Denard Robinson. Alot of people will lead you to believe that Michigan wont even score 10 points....Complete and utter Non Sense. I would suspect Michigan will score something in the neighborhood of 17 - to 27 points in this game. The SEC is known for dominating teams with there physical guys up front. And they do a great job of it, no other league has better DL's then the SEC. They found out if you harass the other team with just 4 guys pressuring the QB....they can do pretty much what you want. But...and here is a big But........... If the other team has a guy who has wheels and can throw it, it puts them out of there comfort zone. They cant just send 4 and drop 7. If they send 4 against Denard and drop back a play a soft zone........they are gonna be in for a rude awakening. Believe that or not, that's the truth. Just like last season's first weeks game between Georgia and Boise, when I told you guys that if you really thought Georgia was gonna just stop Boise and be " SEC Physical " with them and that be good enough.........then you were crazy. Which btw.... not only did I predict a win for Boise in that game, I called for a blowout.
Im telling you right now.... If that line somehow goes to 14. I'm taking Michigan....This game is gonna be much closer than you think

unless Oklahoma keeps losing players. WRs, OLs, DT, etc.
looks like Stoops does pretty good in these rare situations playing patsies on the road out of conference.

#125 Posted: 8/20/2012 7:59:20 AM Boom,
Got a quick question for you buddy. My book gives me an additional point off the spread on my two favorite teams that I have to pick before the season starts. I have already selected Michigan State as one, being I am a Abigail Ten guy, so I have MSU -6 at the moment. I am in the process of picking my other team now, and am looking at Clemson. Since you're a big Clemson fan, I thought you'd be the guy to ask. Is Clemson worth getting that extra point on every week, if not, is there another team where getting that extra point every week will be more beneficial?
Thanks Boom |
