If you are talking to me, that's not what I said at all. Did I say he was dumb for "max betting" Cal? Nope. You have a hunch, play it. But when your hunch is pretty obviously wrong, you throw MORE money at a bad hunch? Pretty silly if you ask me. Especially when his "max bet" was almost entirely predicated on the fact that Cal is at Home and is a beast at home (but disregard the Nevada game).
