#27 Posted: 9/23/2009 11:50:36 PM Coach Mike, you obviously didn't tune into the UGa game a couple weeks ago. Garcia is a totally different QB this year. He actually went through his 1st spring practice this spring and was actually "coached up" as Spurrier would say. I'm just saying if Chris Smelley could pick apart Nix's defense, then Garcia should demolish it. SC is more talented at every position on offense this year if you've followed them. Again, I'm not saying play the Gamecocks. I'd just be wary of putting too much of my bankroll on the Rebels. If I did take SC, I would take the money line. My opinion is they win, but I am somewhat biased |

Will he win...sure, but he wont even look like an All-SEC 2morrow. If he can somehow complete 60% of his passes and have a 140 or so QB rating the Rebels win by 2 scores. The more I look into this game the more its evident the line is a tad low (is Ole Miss deserving of a higher line no not all). But I will take a shot in the wind with -3, a good behind defense and a capable QB leading a good offense anyday on the road. You win...its hell yeh, you lose its darn, oh well. But backing an average team getting only a FG against the before mentioned is not in my arsenal. |

#31 Posted: 9/24/2009 12:39:48 AM Hey HairNeil, you obviously didn't read the "when under pressure" part of my statement.
GA's defense is terrible this year, I saw it with my own eyes, and I still don't understand how they could drop off that badly in an offseason.
Tons of QB's are great with protection!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The great ones make the right decisions under pressure....
If you think that's your boys Garcia, then take SC.
Keep in mind, I always root for SC, still have lots of respect for The Ole Ball Coach, but his kids are in big trouble if they don't execute almost perfectly.

#32 Posted: 9/24/2009 12:51:19 AM Coach Mike, give me Spurrier against Tyrone Nix anyday of the week. Spurrier lit up that defense with Chris Smelley at QB, just imagine what he will do with Garcia. I ain't worried about pressure, Garcia's wheels will nullify a lot of that. Perhaps you saw him in the LSU game last year before he tired out from carrying the team on his back. Now he has actually been "coached up" for an entire spring and fall camp. Something he has never had before. Spurrier knows he has something special in Garcia and it will be evident tomorrow night. Snead best be the one worried about pressure tomorrow night. SC has 10 of its 11 projected starters playing on defense for the 1st time all season (will never be 11 cause Paulk is out for the season). The d-line is in tact finally. SC played a lot of 3 man fronts the past 2 weeks cause of a depleted d-line. Now they are fully healthy and will be back to a 4 man front which is what they are more comfortable with. |

#33 Posted: 9/24/2009 12:55:49 AM Very hard to teach being good under pressure, in anything in life. Usually, you either "are" or "are not"?

#36 Posted: 9/24/2009 6:04:59 AM South Carolina's defense consists of 3 seniors. Also their MLB is out for season. He is a big importance. This defense is facing a really ggod offense which talking about intact. Miss has 8 starting seniors in offense alone that all started last year. Snead should be very comfortable in the pocket. Offensive line is very good. Running back Cordera Eason should have a big day tomorrow. I see 100 yrds with no problem. Miss defense consists of 6 seniors and the rest are juniors. This defense is really experienced and will be all over SC back field. SC will have to throw the ball and when he does this veteran secondary will be ready. DE for Miss will have a steller game. His name is Marcus Tillman remember this name because if you dont know who he is you will tomorrow.
Good luck to all and enjoy the game but I see a one sided game here.

#37 Posted: 9/24/2009 6:21:16 AM hairneil, you make alot of good points, but your overlooking one thing. Last years matchup was the week after Ole Miss knocked off #1 Florida in the swamp, that game was a big letdown spot for them and they most likely still had a hangover from beating the Gators. So I wouldn't put too much weight into last years game.

#38 Posted: 9/24/2009 6:42:19 AM SC matches up better than almost anyone in the SEC versus Miss. If anyone thinks this will be a blowout, good luck! SC will keep it close and the dog cover will never really be in doubt. Miss has no defense, SC doesnt have much of one either. Over is the safest pick but no way SC doesnt cover at home as a 4 point dog. Miss is the MOST overrated team in the nation. They probably lose straight up tonight and wont be seen near the top 15 the rest of the year. SC will be aggresive in the secondary and create more turnovers than Miss defense will. USC is muchbetter than Memphis or Southfuck Louisiana! |

Love all this Miss. hype. Go ahead and bet the most overrated team in the land. They have proved nothing up to this point, yet they are a top 5 team. What would a real top 5 team be laying in this spot cause they sure as garbage aint one. |

#42 Posted: 9/24/2009 8:25:07 AM Mississippi is 9th in nation in turnover margin, while SCarolina is tied for 12th. SCarolina has played a much harder schedule. |

#44 Posted: 9/24/2009 9:26:01 AM I don't know why everyone is saying Ole Miss is overrated? How can a team be overrated if they haven't been tested yet? I'll take over-hyped, but not overrated. Especially since they covered (with ease) over their first 2 "cupcake" teams. So please, you can say over-hyped, but you can't say overrated until they play someone, or else you have to say the entire pre-season top 25 teams are overrated to begin the year.
Hell, look at the top 5...Florida just struggled against Tennessee when everyone thought they were gonna put a beatdown on them...overrated?
Texas has looked sloppy in their first 3 games, and failed to cover in all of them...overrated?
Penn St hasn't played anyone either, and they failed to cover their first 3 games...overrated?
The only consistent teams in there so far are Alabama and...yup Ole Miss. We'll see if they are also overrated or not tonight as this is their first "test".
Just my opinion...

#50 Posted: 9/24/2009 2:00:38 PM Less we forget, Snead was 21/32 for 245 yards and a TD last year and Ole Miss would have won if not for 3 TO's..
He should be just as good or better tonight..
