Fans have been lied too of course but not this time

At this time Sanchez is the starter, but that only means week 1 of just beyond

Within 2-4 games Mark will make it easy (by his usual QB, play, salary or not) to pull him and start Tebow.

The Jets never had that choice before with their backup QBs, now they do.

I am no Tebow fan, but i am less of a Sanchez fan, who is taking this team to 500 at best, so the jets have nothing to lose by trying this interesting experiment at QB, esp. after what he did in Denver last year and the ph. boost he gave the team, he might do it in NY too, its worth a try and you can always go back to your 500 at best starter, if it does not workout, but do not wait too long on Sanchez, although i am sure the fans will see to that, BIG TIME.

Follow the money.................

Sanchez will be, and ALWAYS will be THE STARTING QUARTERBACK!

Tebow is being brought in, at a bargain price mind you (1st rd pick for a 4&6?) to be a "changeup" qb. Now, if Rex could EVER think about the offense JUST ONCE, this might turn out better than signing LT after 13 billion yards at SD. You could put Tebow as 2nd TE, slot WR, fullback, wildcat..............MULTIPLE places. Hell, inside the Red Zone, you could have a Tebow Package (what the heck, he ain't using it) that would cause DCs to target just him.

Only way he starts is Jets are 0-8.....................

This debate will go on forever

GMs have made these mistakes tons of times before on their QBs and here is another ex.

If Sanchez was any good, i would agree with hawk but this hugely overpaid less than ave. QB is taking them no place and Sanchez will not be the 1st highly paid underachiving REG SEASON QB to  be pulled.

We can go back and forth till the skin peels off our fingers. We will agree to disagree and let actions speak louder than words and talk again around early oct.

I see it more as a srategy for crunch time. Everyone saw what Tebow brought to the table in those 4th quarter come from behinders. Teams aren't geared for defending against his style in a preventive mode.

Sanchez gets the nod to start but Tebow is inserted as the closer.

I think they were looking for a guy who could come in and push Sanchez but throws worse and has less football intelligence. Tebow was their guy.

Tim Tebow will win a Super Bowl for the NY Jets. With or without Sanchez. He was built for NY and NY was built for Tebow. I have never been so sure of anything in my life.

If I were a Jets fan I would convert over to the Giants. The Jets just gave Sanchez an extension, and if that isn't enough to make you hate the Jets, then I don't know what is. The guy will never be a success in the NFL, and he certainly will never win a championship. He had a chance when the Jets had a lights out defense, and they failed, in large part to his inability to throw the ball with accuracy. The only people who should be happy about this signing is the teams in the Jets division. I don't know what to make of the Tebow signing, but I do think he starts by week 5.
