i think we will see plenty of the leafs bettors tomorrow just because they made a coaching change, canadiens will not make the playoffs this year, you know it i know it, they know it, the pressure or whatever is not there anymore, playing no pressure hockey vs a team like the leafs which still looking for a spot but damn struggling will give the chance to get a win.
i will go against public tomorrow and try to get the best line possible before the game time.
take montreal with the odds you like, for me coaching change doesnt mean too much, look a this year's teams changing coach and playing the first game with the new coach, lot of them lost, i dont remember the team which won...

7 coaching changes this year
1 team won the first game with the new coach which is the st louis blues...
other 6 teams suffered the loss.

I know what you mean but just think about this, the rumors have been swirling for awhile.. The leafs have clearly been playing "tight"
This news will probably be much like a load off their shoulders. They were playing for Ron Wilson's job the last few weeks. They don't need to worry about that anymore. That's the angle that makes the new coach theory successful. The players don't feel the pressure of playing for someone's livelihood.
These hockey bets where a consensus is made late in the year means nothing. The game is still played on the ice.

Depends on the situation. That's why I find trends useless. Nothing is exactly alike.

Those coaches didn't nearly have the axe as close to the head as Burke was wielding the axe over Ron Wilson.

The way both teams have been stinking the last few weeks, the over 5.5 is looking like the play.

one remark i can make, ken hitchcock was only the proven nhl coach in the list and he won.
randy carlyle is also a proven nhl coach.
we will see how the line moves tomorrow...
