Listen, folks. You can't even fathom what it's like to be in his shoes. He's a good guy. He has treated the game right. He has answered the bell EVERY SINGLE TIME in the Olympics. Now he's evil for just mentioning that maybe the athletes should get a cut of some of the money THEY HELP MAKE? Get over it.
Its not context, its symantics. Salary or a "cut" is getting paid either way.
He isnt an employee of the United States. Nike and Adidas arent sponsoring the Olympics. He is paid by the Heat and whatever endorsements he has. Playing for team USA is voluntary. If he doesnt want to play, they can easily find a replacement.
I'm not jealous or hating. He makes an amazing living playing a game. Good for him.
