When the Magic beat the CAVs a few years back...the Magic were winning matchups all over the court.
Last year, the Celtics dominated multiple matchups (Garnett, Rondo, etc..)....even Paul Pierce said after the series was over "all we had to worry about was LBJ"
LBJ was wise to get a teammate (teammates) that he can go to war with that can at least tie (Bosh?) if not win (D Wade) their matchups.
LBJ quit on Cavs? c'mon folks, Cavs were always pretenders and not a true title contending team .... the Cavs was all LBJ and would have lost to the Celtics again this year
I don't question any of your points, but I'm not sure what any of that has to do with the fact that he quit on his team in Game 5. There is no escaping that Lebron quit on the Cavs in game 5. Watch the tape. He refused to be part of huddles during timeouts, refused to shoot the ball, stood in the corner on the majority of offensive possessions, refused to play defense. He was so far disconnected from his team, that it was obvious to even a 5 year old. As you say, LBJ was the WHOLE team, so when your star player refuses to do all those things, wouldn't you say that he quit on you? |
