I tip a dollar a drink - even if one is a water - sometimes more if the waitress goes out of her way for me. If I am playing slots in a HR area I leave $5 a drink - normally these waitresses serve better quality drinks ( even Fiji instead of normal water) - however one time in the HR area in an MGM Resort Casino the waitress ( old and slow) took ages to serve me and bought me the wrong drink - I left her a dollar - she looked at it and made some "stage whisper " comment.
I did not say a word - reported her attitude to management. They agreed with me - even Promark - that the waitress should show gratitude for any tip - even in a HR area - a $ is a $

The waitress is wrong and should find a new job.  The way it shouldve went down was  thus, Waitress: " heres yr drink sir..."     Stiff: "  ty heres some change"    Waitress ,"thank you" and keep moving and don't come by  the stiff again.    anyone that says different  dont know sheet about making $ from the public. She lost her demeanor.   she turnt into a beggar.  she was begging.

I agree Poo. The server lost her cool big time. She should have said thanks even though she was mad, and not come back to the stiff again, case closed. If you are that hard up for tips, you are in the wrong business, become a beggar or something.

PS, I am not saying Promark was in the right by tipping 45 cents,  that is wrong, do not tip 45 cents ever no matter what. He stiffed her,  and she lost her cool, who fuggin cares

Did that big bad waitress make Promark cry?  She was a meanie.  Poor Promark.  She hurt his feelings and then he had to come to covers and pout.

Dumbest thread I've ever seen. She shouldn't have said anthing about the .45 cent tip but you still make yourself look like a douche tipping her .45 cents. Better off saying I'll get you next time or tip her a $5 or something ..

I know this post is old but saw it on the blog forum. I've been working in the casino industry for over 15 years gambling for 17 years. My gf is a server for over 6 years.. I know we all are suppose to treat any tip as a good tip but in that situation when drinks are free 1.00 tip is the norm. You are getting a 3.00-5.00 beer for free. Yes she should have said thank you and walked away and girl about it later. But you also set yourself up. If anything you should have said I'm sorry this is all I have at the moment and will tip you more later if I can win some of my money back. But to tip .45 without any reason makes you look cheap. But that is just my opinion from my past experiences.  As for casino employees being cheap? They are the best tippers.. I tip 5,00 min for soda and if the waitress is hot then 25.00 if I am losing my behind I don't order anything but when I'm winning I tip well. Playing poker I'm probably one of the best tippers. We survive off tips and its part of our income. I am not saying all are good but most are.

Funny read! Two points to offer from someone who worked in customer service for 20 years.

1. Do not tip the waitress 45 cents. If you're in Vegas, make a habit of having 20 dollars broken down into small bills in your pocket at all times. If you really had no access to money or intention of acquiring any more cash and still felt the need to give her your loose change, then acknowledge that you fucked up and say "Hey, Ill get you the next time." Chasing her down and making a complete behind of yourself was not the way to go. Based on what I've read from your own language about you and your experience, you are about the worst kind of customer.

2. The waitress was in the wrong to say anything in regards to your tip. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to fire employees for chasing a guest out of a restaurant and handing the tip back "Hey I think you need this more than I do." You just don't do that. Some low life like yourself will tip nothing while somebody else will tip well above and beyond. It equals itself out in that industry.

Thanks to my Dad for this. When I get to Vegas ( or even before I go) I get a whole bunch of ones and hundreds, as you will need them both.

The Wynn is the absolute worst casino I have everrrrrrr been too.  (Gambling wise) The clubs are amazing and its really beautiful but if you enjoy gambling as I do DONT play there ever.  That being said, I was playing Black Jack at $100.00 a handm and came up $800.00 not even a minute later 3 floor man came up to my table STOPED THE GAME and approached me like I was a fricken crime boss and told me they need my SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER!!! In shockm embarrassed, angry, frustrated, killed my flow ( you know when your winning what flow Im talking about).  I told them I dont feel comfortable doing that, they said then I have to stop the game and LEAVE THE CASINO!!!! I couldn't believe that sh*t!!! How embarrassing and completely out of my control i couldn't do ANYTHING but LEAVE.  NEVER AGAIN WILL I GAMBLE AT THE WYNN.  STAY AT THE WYNN OR DO ANYTHING AT THE WYNN (Except the club)  lol!! When your friends are all going what are you supposed to do.

That's a bizarre story Jimmy. I would've took their money and told them to darn off.

In all honesty, they did you a favor. You were up. You gamble to win So when you win, its time to leave. I do this at the low stakes (1-2 or 2-5) poker tables all the time. Once doubled up, I'm gone.
