He has done a hell of a lot better than the previous coaches in the past few years!!

Miss St. is still below par in the SEC but atleast they are not in the Kentucky and Ole' Miss classification. He does have them somewhat moving in the right direction and has brought enthusiasm to Starkville which was once as dead as a sack of garbage. You gotta start somewhere and Miss St. is a tough place to have success.

2010 was below their expectations. However, they lost to So. Car by 2 and won their bowl game (Music City).

2009 was moving forward in comparison to their previous reputation:

They beat GA by 12, Fla by 3, and played Arkansas in a competitive 7 point loss. I was at the AU game in Starkville when Cam threw the easiest pick 6 which the CB dropped. I think the kid was so shocked it was thrown right to his chest that he dropped the int. that play probably would have given AU the loss.
Miss St. went on to the Gator Bowl to slaughter Michigan 52-14.

So...I'd say Mullin has gotten them to being an actual threat when for many years they were a whipping post!

@warcam

If Cheesedick will get rid of people that act like thugs then why is Trooper Taylor still on the sideline...waving his Troopa Towel wearing his hat backwards????

Oh yeah...I forgot! He does the "dirty work".

I think this game will be close.  I had us (Clemson) winning by a touchdown or more before Sammy was suspended, but now I think it's a field goal win for us (I hope).

Sammy is just so explosive and has to be accounted for at all times.  Now that he's gone, Auburn can put more focus on locking down Nuk and stuffing the run (Ellington).  Having said that, we still have a bunch of other weapons on offense (Brown, Peake, Bryant, Ford, in addition to Hopkins and Ellington) and should score some points.

On the flip side, although our defense is nothing to write home about, it will be going against what I believe is a very average offense.  There isn't a single player on Auburn's offense that really concerns me, unlike last year when they had Dyer carrying the ball.  I think our defense will hold Auburn just enough to give our offense a chance to win the game without having to score 40 points to do so.

My biggest concerns going into this game are our offensive line and our past performances in Atlanta.  We cannot allow Auburn to push our OL back the entire night, and we can't let those Ga Dome demons get us again in the end.

I look forward to a good game in Atlanta.  Go Tigers (CLEMSON)!

Guys, we don't need 137 points on this game..

It's very simple..

Clemson- 34  Auburn- 23

I'll take my chances on a neutral field with Taj. Auburns offense wont be potent week 1 and Clemmys will

Its gonna be a great game..no question this is Clemson potentially best team in yrs..which Im not sure is too much. They thought they won the SuperBowl last yr when they finally beat Auburn ,broke Auburns 15 game win streak, and Auburn s 14 game win streak vs Clemson which obviously has no bearing in couple of weeks.Auburn might come out confused and overwhelmed and NotreDame might win the National Title this yr.Auburn was fcking up last yr until Sammy ran wild.DD ..just dont see it..too much talent on Auburn's team..20m north Hsv

@Salttiger..I think its gonna be the game of the weekend.I thought the total would be around 55..62 last time I checked.I do think Lemonier is going to disrupt Clemson s O& I think Lutzkitchen is gonna have to some big plays for Auburn to WIN along with Mason&McCaleb combine for 150..WHAT A HUGE GAME for both programs.

I have said in several threads that Auburn has a chance to be pretty good on defense, and by that I mean finish in the top 50.  I think "Porn Stache" (aka Brian VanGorder) was a good hire and a big improvement on that side of the ball.  He brings a tougher, attacking type of mentality to the defense, something I think Auburn sorely needed.

Addditionally, Corey Lemonier is a certified beast.  The question will be how much help will he get around him.  Kenneth Carter will certainly be someone to keep an eye on.  With a year of experience under his belt, he looks ready to take his game to the next level.

With Auburn returning their entire defensive front 4 combined with Clemson having to replace core pieces of their offensive line, clearly this is an advantage Auburn looks to (and needs to) expliot.  Conversely, all the reports I've been hearing from the Clemson camp (both spring and fall) is how impressive those new pieces on the offensive line are fitting in.  So while conventional wisdom says that Auburn's defense will have a huge advantage at the point of attack, I tend to think the disparity will be lower than market expectations.

Looking beyond the Auburn's defensive front, I think Clemson, with their plethora of talent at the skill positions, has a fairly decisive advantage versus Auburn's linebacking crew (especially the linebackers) and secondary.  Thus, I believe Clemson will still score their share of points and will likely eclipse the 30-point mark.  If so, that should be more than enough to win and cover.

@jimmy-I think u are overlooking Mason and Lutz..its a no brainer that Frazier is gonna have to make some big plays for Auburn..Ive talk to some players and they said he has made a HUGE improvement in his passing game since last yr.High scoring certainly favors Clemson..Its either Auburn&under or Clemson&over..lol..that narrows it down..turn it or double up...special teams and turn overs will prob be the diff in game.Everybody on ESPN thinks Mich doesnt have a chance vs Bama..blow out city

Auburn suspended WR DeAngelo Benton indefinately. One less target for a somewhat unexperienced QB in Frazier

I meant to say that BM " doesn't" have totals out for Saturday games yet.

Read somewhere that the total for this game was 62.  If so, that's an absurdly high number IMO.  That's almost a better play than Clemson.

I know this game hit 62 last season, but I don't see anyway this is getting anywhere near that number.  I capped Auburn scoring no more than 17 (but hey let's call it 20), and Clemson scoring in the 30-34 point range.  That's more than a full TD below the total on the high end.

If I can get a 31 number for the 1st half, I'll be happier than a lesbian with a licker license!!!
