If IHA wins the Belmont, he certainly would deserve his place in history alongside Whirlaway, Citation, Sir Barton, Secretariat and all the other TC winners. However, the Belmont has had a way (at least in the past 34 years) of weeding out those who don't belong in this special group. Real Quiet was a very good horse, but not special, the nose he lost by (to Silver Charm) kept him out. Same for War Emblem, Funny Cide, Big Brown, etc. In my opinion, I've seen only 2 horses that might have belonged in this group in the past 34 years and they were Point Given and and maybe Smarty Jones - other opinions are welcome. The idea of course is to determine right now if IHA is worthy of being mentioned with the immortal horses, I'm not sure, his record certainly speaks for itself. The Belmont is the true test of champions, if IHA can win 3 races in 5 weeks at 3 different tracks and 3 different distances with the grueling mile and a half being the final one against what appears to be well rested tough competition, he deserves all the praise he will get - I will have paid to see this piece of history through my losing tickets as I will be betting against.

Easy Goer was a great horse and could have won the Triple Crown with better luck and better rides.
Should have won the Breeders Cup Classic too.
I think he's got the 2nd fastest Belmont besides Secretariat if I'm not mistaken. He set some other track records also.

I'll Have Another secret weapon banned
The odds for the Belmont Stakes may feel a little shaky after the May 27 article by the NY Post.
