Verlander bailed him out this time, but it was ridiculous. Too many pitches.

You're up 3-1 going into the 9th and your starting pitcher has already thrown over 110 pitches... I just don't understand where this Leyland guy is coming from... Fucked me over good for I had the RL.

You gotta respect a manager that sticks with their ace.  I wish friggin John Gibbons didnt pull Halladay so often in the 9th just to have the pen blow the garbage out of the game.  Detroit's closer already blew one of Verlander's games this season.  I think it was the right call (ever though he threw 131 times)

you guys are too much. Verlander threw 4 fastballs that last at bat..

3 100mph 4 Seamers and a 100 mph 2 seamer....

He was CLEAR AS DAY not gassed. He got into trouble sure, but it wasn't because he was gassed!

Sure you can throw with speed, but accuracy? Come on man. I don't care about how a manager respects his ace and all that talk. That's what closers are paid to do; CLOSE THE GAME. If Detroit was to lose tonight, of course we wouldn't have taken anything away from Verlander because he was stellar for tonight's game. The game all comes to down to who has control of the game... THE MANAGER!!!!

Clear as day lol he was all over the place (if you were watching). Hit Escobar on the first pitch of the AB to load the bases with a 100 mph fastball, he had no location. Luckily it worked out (this time). unfortunately not for the RL backers tho

i always think closer should pitch the 9th because thats what they are there for. to close game. sometime it works and sometime it doesnt. if thier closer came in and gave up a run. this thread would be on how bad the bullpen is for detroit. and leyland should of let justin v go back out there cause thier bullpen is worst then a tired out verlander

agreed. They can throw 130 all season, wont hurt anything. Might help bullpen, and Verlander.

9th inn run is gonna screw RL bettors every fuckin day one way or the other. It's like a mini parlay--2 wAGERS IN ONE.
