Okay folks,

The results are in. The Phillies took the Braves 4-1 Sunday night. The total combined hits were 11 and the strikouts numbered 12. Results of the contest are as follows:

1st: indiobear 4-1 Phillies 10 hits, 15 strikeouts

2nd: threes20 4-1 Phillies 13 hits, 12 strikeouts

3rd: MRJLX 3-2 Phillies 10 hits, 12 strikeouts

Congratulations to the winners. I'll be in touch with you soon via e-mail with further instructions. Thanks to everyone for participating. See you next week.

Cheers,

Lou

1st tiebreaker is 'hits'... he is closer to 11.

if you both had chosen 11 hits or were the same distance away from 11 then the 2nd tiebreaker would come into play.

still... nice job getting 2nd... can't complain about that.

Thanks clarkd32. That hits the nail on the head. Tie breakers are used on an "as-needed" basis. If the scores add up to the same total with the correct winner, then those entries are equivalent. So the decision falls on the first tie-breaker. Unless the first tie-breaker of both entries is an exact match, the second tie-breaker is not needed. If the correct score is picked, no tie-breakers are needed and both would be irrelevant.

Cheers,
