Edmonton +....??

I'm going to wait and see if the BC/New stadium hype pushes this to 6.

Big game for the Lions here who open up their new stadium which if you haven't seen any previews yet looks absolutely awesome. Unfortunately for the players with all the hype, unveiling, big crowd expected, new settings and surroundings, and their great recent play all of the pressure and all of the spotlight will be squarely on BC. That's simply not good because time and time again we've seen how this team responds to pressure and it's usually in the form of vomiting on themselves. The Lions are also off two huge road wins where they basically locked up a playoff spot as they sit two games up on Saskatchewan and have all the tiebreakers.

Meanwhile on the other side no one is paying attention to Edmonton. They had a bad home loss last week and amid all the hype for the Lions the Eskies quietly sneak in under the radar and healthy and IMO will steal a win. This team is 4-1 SU & ATS this year as road dogs with the lone loss coming when they spent the week on the road and all the receivers were hurt in Montreal so we can basically throw that game out. Edmonton, Calgary, and BC aren't that much different from each other which is probably why when any of those teams have met this year the dog is 5-2 ATS.

Previous trends favor Edmonton and most road underdogs ATS.  But current form favors BC in the eyes of fans who actually watch games.  Although teams are close in points, BC is clearly the hottest team averaging 20 points margin of victory in recent 5 games.  Whereas, Edmonton is inconsistent now.  At BC Place in the past, BC tends to play better than at Empire stadium.  Pressure may bring out the best or worst in teams, but pressure usually boost good teams.  We will discover soon whether trend or momentum prevails.

I just can't get myself to take the Eskimos here and i totally agree with your analysis of the game.
Here's the problem------------------RICKY RAY

Can anyone tell my why he looks so sharp in one week and then is off by 20 yards on just about every throw the next week.

New surroundings for both teams in a big game = UNDER all day. Also, lay the points with Montreal in a DD blowout.

This.

Totally agree this is a great spot to fade the Lions with this new stadium (I'll be checking it out next week!). I just wish it wasn't Edmonton they were playing as I really am not a fan of that team.

Might join you, might not, but BOL this week

GL man, I have to admit, your argument for Edmonton makes a lot of sense. I probably would have stayed away if I wasn't going to the game.

Edmonton +6

Got the number I wanted. Let's see if the Lions really have changed their stripes. All the pressure is on them to open up the stadium with a bang. I say they darn it up. I could be wrong I'm 14-13.

Yeah the Eskies are pretty inconsistent but this is a spot they have shown up in this year. Let's hope Reed brings them together on the road again this time around.

Thinking about taking a shot with Winnipeg. It blows my mind a team as bad is Hamilton is one win away from the Grey Cup. Their two QB system is doomed to eventually fail. If Glenn struggles early they will keep switching throughout the game. The old saying goes when you have two quarterbacks you don't have one.

Hamilton expended a ton of energy last week, with a week off there's no question Winnipeg will be the fresher team. It is going to be pretty cold for this game. Winnipeg is built exactly for this setting as they are a physical team that plays good defense and runs the ball, perfect for cold weather playoff football. Hamilton is a soft, passing team whose defense is pathetic. The only problem is Hamilton's record as a dog and Winnipeg's as a fav.
