Just curious, if you reduce your 1U $values during skids?
Tuff dog choices today. Specially since dogs went 10-5 yesterday. Greinke, Strasburg at home and Lohse on road. Good news is with those pitchers STL and Nats should be juiced up like Brew, but they are not. Either way with you on these. Your picks have worked and your results are proof enough.
BOL today. Sent you a friend request.

#78 Posted: 5/20/2012 11:50:40 AM You've been doing a great job so far. Don't over think it too much.
Yesterday, I used all the picks except STL and instead went for the Dodgers. I felt a lot of factors were leaning towards the Dodgers. Today with the Dodgers, I see Chad on the mound. It's so hard being a fan of this team with this guy in the rotation. It could be his day though, as STL does have their backs against the wall in this series. Good thing about today's picks is that all the opposing teams have their backs against the wall. It should be interesting. BOL to us all. |

#81 Posted: 5/20/2012 1:40:33 PM JBecks12 I have 80 Units and up my unit amount as the winnings increase. So far I havn't had to reduce my unit amount as I havn't really been in the hole for mor than about 20 Units(when I started the thread) its been mostly up money .
downforbetting Good choice on the LAD pick.
Runyanb1 My user name says it all. Once I cap the games I put them into a randomizer and grab the top 4.
How do I choose? I am a trend better. I don't care who is in the line-up nor do I care who is pitching. I look for trends that are hidden and no one else uses. It takes me 10 seconds to cap each game. I don't care if it is for a series sweep or if they have lost the last 10 games ect...
Sometimes I don't like my choices, but I play them with detached emotion cause thats what comes up. Altho with JBecks12 insight and some more data maybe I can eliminate some games before choosing.
Today's choices were LAD,PIT,BAL,ATL,MIN,SEA. Also had KC but Pinnacle didn't have it up when I wanted to bet. Had CLE as well but it became a favorite by bet time so I take whats left. |

#85 Posted: 5/21/2012 2:41:36 AM Thanks for the positive week! Keep it going. After you select the top 4 can you also list other teams that made it to the randomizer? Maybe i will use them for other straight plays.

#88 Posted: 5/21/2012 12:16:13 PM I cross referenced with another dog bettor and won on Sat. Needing only St. L. For the sweep. Had I been home a little earlier or had Houston game been over earlier hedging the St. L. / LA would have been a definite money making day. In fact I think the first two games MN and Seattle were won earlier in the day and Houston was probably a hedge too. That day was set up perfectly to hedge. I really feel there is merit to this madness and your system deserves attention. There will always be kinks and bumps and that is the way in life and reality. Thank you and good luck! |

#90 Posted: 5/21/2012 3:04:35 PM Thank you ShadowWarrior. I agree some days are perfect for hedging. I do believe with a bit more data than I can refine the system. So far I am happy with the results.I do believe that everyone should hedge when possible, but for the purpose of this thread, I want to see what flat betting and no hedging will produce.
A little info if anyone cares.. Starting Apr 30 till May 20,Just picking + Dogs.
Before random choosing I am (78 W 62 L =55.71%)
14 of those 21 days had a chance to sweep before random choosing, as they had 4 or more winning + Dogs in the group. |

#96 Posted: 5/22/2012 10:29:59 AM I am glad to see you have San Diego and Minnesota in your RR because I made wagers on those teams last night too.
As far as hedging goes, in the long run, I believe it will even out. You said you would not hedge for the purpose of this thread, and I think it makes total sense you do that. For your personal account (not for the tracking purpose in this thread), I suppose you can still hedge though when the situation is right to do so, and leave un-hedged records here
Personally, the only situation I think worth hedging is when you have both 4 team RR and straight up parlay, and you are only missing one team (i.e. on the verge of either sweeping or winning only one of your RR). I do not think it would be profitable to hedge each individual RR (winning two, and hedging the third one). Just my two cents.
Best of luck as always |

#98 Posted: 5/22/2012 4:27:25 PM Could a person lower their risk (4 units) by playing all 4 teams in one 4-team parlay? Has this ever won? I realize the payout is higher with the 4 3-teamers if all 4 were to win, but since it probably is rare it might not be worth even risking 1 unit on a single 4-teamer and not playing the 3-teamers. I'm new here, Monkey, have you ever hit all 4 teams?

#99 Posted: 5/22/2012 4:55:42 PM Has anyone ever tried a system where you play run lines -1.5 for plus money in a 2-team parlay? 70% of all baseball games are won by 2 or more. Of course, some of those are dog plays and would lay juice on the run line. Last year, I started going against Houston (almost always a dog) and playing on Texas-1.5 and hit quite a few plus money 2-teamers. The problem now is Houston is a much better team and Texas has dropped off since a hot start, so I didn't do it this year. Any ideas on 2 teams that would be good to bet -1.5 runs for plus money or teams to go against and bet the other team -1.5 for plus money? These are dog parlays except you are betting the favorite to win by 2. I know this is off-topic and I apologize just putting it out there in case we can find some nuggets!

#100 Posted: 5/22/2012 7:08:00 PM angle - i dont think that u just pick two and play them every time..pick your spots but i do like the idea. I like monkey boys dog picks maybe you could look his dog picks over, cap the one he picks and pick the one you like best and then put it with a -1.5 team of you choice that night...(I wouldnt play the same -1.5 team every night) good luck bro
