Do you guys easily forget how he plays in the playoffs the last 3 season?
Celts will win the finals this year. Just a matter of time. Please pull this thread up when they do.
You welcome.
OMG one of the worst post I have seen on Covers. Celtics are winning the championship? Are you insane? Miami is going to win it this year Lebron is much to determined and focused.

Case and point:
ESPN made a huge deal about Bynum getting the first playoff triple-double for a Laker since Magic Johnson in 1991.
Rondo has 7 triple doubles by himself in 75 career post season games. The guy averages a triple-double every 10 playoff games. |

Yeah, ESPN is trying to downplay one of the storied franchises in the NBA that is also in the Northeast. Also, they finally ran a story on the Red Sox because it had been about an hour since they talked about anything Sox related.
In a semi-related story, this Indiana Pacers coverage is getting out of control.
You could easily argue the case that Rondo is not a top-5 PG. He can't friggin shoot. A 60% FT shooter who has the ball in his hands late in the game is a huge liability. Especially with guys like Rose, Paul, Williams, Westbrook, Nash etc... |

i agree............but imagine somehow this rondo kid developed a good medium range jumpshot .... or even worse developes a 3pt shot like kyle korver............ ..................... this kid got game in every catorgory except scoring .......but then agian point guards are not supposed to be the scorer of the team |

#32 Posted: 5/6/2012 3:20:19 PM You guys are crazy----Rondo sucks. He eats off of 3 Hall of Famers. You put him on a bad team and he wouldn't do anything. Everyone knows he's not a guy that can carry a team or who you can run the offense through.
Look at Tony Parker. He was CARRYING the Spurs for the first 30 games averaging like 27 and 10 while Ginobli was hurt---and before Jackson, Diaw, and Mills got there.
Rondo needs talent around him to flourish---and Paul Pierce showed in game 2 vs. the Hawks he is the best player on that team.

I agree. If Rondo could shoot, I think you could argue that he would be the 2nd best player in the league, behind LeBron. Rondo's game is super unique and I really like the little things he does, but I wasn't arguing about his ability to "score" or the need for a PG to score. If the guy you want to have the ball late in the game can't shoot FT at a high rate then that is a big negative for your team. |

I agree.
Anyone who watches these two play closely will also agree. |

#44 Posted: 6/3/2012 9:42:03 PM Same old..."rondo can't score blah blah blah"
this dood is a triple double threat every night.
oh and not to mention 44 pts.
Right..........anyone who doesn't put Rondo top 5 in the league should really get their head checked out. Seriously, go to the doctors....unless of course you never watched basketball in your whole life, then I would understand why you would argue that Rondo is not top 5.

we steal one at miami, and we one game away from the Finals.
But I do admit, over the course of the season, I'm not sure if we really have what it takes to win the championship. IT really does depend on Ray Allen. If he steps up and becomes that three point threat that we all know he can be, the Celts will have a good chance.
If not this year, they will have a even GREATER chance next year. The big four will be back. They will be back but this time surrounded by better role players. We got the salary cap to do it next year.

#48 Posted: 6/4/2012 2:57:06 AM Rondo is much better than Lin.
For arguments sake lets throw out assists and call it a wash as both are good at it
Lin has to cut down on the turnovers, those cost your team possessions (which means less opportunities to score points). Rondo is pretty good at getting steals (i.e. giving your team extra possessions which lead to more points) and Rondo plays extremely well at the defensive end of the floor (makes it harder for the other team to score).
Hes not a consistent jump shooter, but everything stated above more than makes up for it |

Jeremy Lin had his 15 minutes, but he will never ever ever even be in the same breath as Rondo. Just not happening. I loved every minute of Linsanity, but the reality is, Lin fell into a perfect situation with DAntoni and now he will most likely only end up being a solid contributor with Melo dominating the ball once again. |
