One of many for me........................

Can't remember the year or the team they were playing...... I remember one game the Islanders were playing and  GaryHowatt, Clarke Gilles, (before he decided he wanted to be a scorer and not a hitter) and Bobby Nystrom were all on the ice........... It was like a staged movie.......

First Gilles hit's a guy into the boards, then Nystrom takes a guy out and then Howatt smears a guy into the boards........ All of this takes place in the course of "less" than a minute.... one after another and the camera's catch it all...................................... Most exciting play indeed....... Although I do remember Isles win in typical Islander fashion.......... Trottier scores tieing goal and (I can't friggin remember (vodka) his name the Isles leading scorer wins it late............................ Bossy........ Of course I remember his name............ MIKE BOSSY......

Hey Potvin, I am o.k. THese days.... My mother fell a few weeks ago and I had to go bace east for a few weeks, visit her, spend some time withh the ole' gal in the hospital..... Shes tough....

Im a little bent about the hockey bullshit going on.. I just cant believe the owners and the players..... Makes me so angry I become irrational and hope they strike, theres no hockey, and every player and owner suffers huge losses........

I just took a month off without pay .... Damn these guys... Why should I respect them when they have everything and yet act as though they have nothing.....

With that being said, how about yourself... Hope life is treating you well.....

Hope your mom gets better.

I am at a point where I hope they hold out the entire year.  darn both sides, IMO NHL has been garbage for 5-6 years.

Thx benhogan76..

. I have same sentiment (darn em both) although I had been enjoying the youthful insurgence hockey has been experiencing... More speed and size in the game and the rules changes over the past few years have made the game better...  At least I thought...

Thanks potvin.....

From what I heard today on xm radio, they are no closer and Bettman is threatening stoppage.... Not strike, not lock out, but "stoppage"...

They said Canucks already warned it's stadium workers cut in salaries and less work schedule...."

Best hockey moment for me was April 10th, 2003.  It happened at GM Place in Vancouver.  The Canucks against the Blues in what I believe was game 1 of the first playoff round.
I had a seat directly behind the St. Louis bench and right beside the tunnel.  Oh, I also had $1200 on the Over 5.5.  Hey, with Chris Osgood and Dan Cloutier between the pipes I couldn't resist.
The crowd was amped up until St. Louis took a 2-0 lead in the first minute.  Over was looking good.
The score was 5-0 for the Blues after 2 periods.  The Over was looking even better.  Anyhooo, both teams came out for the 3rd period and proceeded to put on a figure skating clinic.  Very few shots and absolutely no effort from either team.  The Over was in jeopardy.
I started banging on the glass and yapping at the Blues bench begging them for a goal. Pavol Demitra looked at me, laughed and shook his head.  I'm sure Keith Tkachuk heard me as he was right in front of me at the bench as well.  With about 2 minutes left I was seriously worried about the Over.
Then Demitra and Tkachuk hit the ice, made a few nice plays and scored that 6th goal.
I was jumping up and down fully decked out in Canuck's crap.  I was cheering like crazy at a seemingly meaningless 6th St. Louis goal in a lop-sided blow-out over my home team.  I was being pelted with garbage and game programs.  I'm sure glad it wasn't "Souvenir Puck Night".
As Demitra and Tkachuk were returning to the bench, a smiling Pavol Demitra looked at me straight on, pointed his finger at me like he was shooting a pistol and then nodded his head as if to say "Is that what you wanted?."  It was fuckin' awesome.

That was my best/favorite hockey moment, although Lemieux's game winner against the Russians in '87 ranks up there too.
