So like I said.. you sound like a homer.. or you're not a homer, but you don't know what you are talking about.. either way makes me think you have no clue what you are saying
You are the one betting $400 on this team and defending them, and I am the homer?

No, not what I'm saying at all. But your entire post is based on down-playing MSU's recent success. OSU fans don't do that. Wisky fans don't do that. ND fans don't do that. Only Michigan homers that never thought they'd see the day where they were facing 5 straight losses to their Little Brother do that. Therefore, I think your post is jibberish. You sound like you know what you're talking about, it's just that you're wearing Blue/Maize glasses, so you think MSU is inferior to your team. The reality is......they're not inferior. Remember that if it wasn't for a 4th quarter double-digit comeback by U of M, this streak would already be at 5 in a row. Sure, there may come a day again where Michigan/OSU are the class of the Big Ten, but to downplay what MSU has done for the last few years is bull garbage. |

#57 Posted: 8/11/2012 12:08:41 AM Bense - I'm not down playing MSU'S last 2 years of success. I just think it will be difficult for them to repeat 10 win seasons again. Understand? Michigan is on the rise. Ohio State is about too dominate this conference. Nebraska is no slouch. Same with Wisconsin. |

#58 Posted: 8/11/2012 12:32:13 AM Michigan State has the best defense in conference and the best offensive line, the best kicker now that the penn state kid transferred, the 2nd best rb, right now the best coach in conference (urban doesn't count until i see it), and the best home field advantage in conference (7-0 last 2 seasons at home)...i'm sure there will be some drop off because of the offense departures but they def. are building a program in east lansing |

I see what you're saying. I agree 100% about OSU. It will be Ohio State and the "rest of the Big Ten" here as soon as next season |

The point I was trying to make is only the line of what BigRed is saying. I don't think that continual 10 win type seasons will be the norm. Will their be 10 win seasons in the future, possibly. Just looking at the current state of the conference, I see the realistic future as being more like 8 wins type seasons.

Hard to say that Urban will have the same success as he did at Florida. Seems like he could burn out real fast again, in my opinion I don't think he will make it the length of his contract, but who really knows. However, I certainly think Michigan, Michigan State, and Nebraska will be challenges for Ohio State going ahead. Ohio State will probably rule the other half of the conference with Penn State down, and Wisconsin struggling to beat OSU even in a down year.

#62 Posted: 8/12/2012 5:57:36 PM Both QB positions leave big questions to be answered but Boise is outmatched on both sides. MSU can overcome the QB dilemma with a very strong o line and running game, keeping the Boise offense off the field. I don't see Boise running against the sparty d and thus I can't see much scoring from them either. Sporty wins this one easily. |

#64 Posted: 8/12/2012 11:39:03 PM I know little but what I've read in the preview mags but with only 2 returning starters on D and with the obvious drop off at the QB position with Moore gone it doesn't seem like starting the season off with what is clearly their toughest game of the year on the road no less will be a good thing. I'm interested to see what the total will be. |

3rd) Again read my post. I knew you were going to say that about future bets. But if its a givin then why not bet it?
1) NO! they will NOT beat USC or OU... they cannot beat USC or OU... so don't tell me i need to re-read your post... your position is clear, and it is flat wrong!
2) i don't care what someone else said, because i didn't say it, and your post about betting MSU's season total was directed at ME!... as indicated by point #3 to follow...
3) it's not a given! if it was a given, i would bet it... but it's not, and i never said it was or that it could be...
you are the reason i can't stand almost all Covers posters... you don't address the legitimate argument... you divert into bullshit arguments...
THIS thread is about THIS game... and you are using the argument, "If MSU is so great, why haven't you put half of your bankroll on their season win total?"... despite the fact that I NEVER SAID MSU IS SO GREAT, or that MSU being great has anything to do with my bet on this game...
if you love Boise so much, then bet them... IN THIS GAME... just like i will bet MSU in THIS GAME... period!
save your lawyer-speak bullshit for the courtroom... but stop polluting this forum with it...
