To clear up some possible misinformation: carbon dating can only be used to go back 50,000 years due to the half-life of carbon-14 being only 5700 years. Also, carbon dating is only used for carbon-based life forms like trees and bones (fossils). For anything older, scientists use uranium dating since the longest uranium half-life is 4 billion years. To date really old fossils, they can't use carbon due to age and can't use uranium on the fossils, so they uranium-date the geologic formation the fossil was buried under.
As an aside, there are many elements with longer half lives than uranium--some even longer than the age of the universe, which is estimated to be 15 billion years. The longest half life belongs to an isotope of tellurium which is 200 trillion times that.

I dont buy the evolution theory. Its just another man made theory when the truth is no man in this world knows exactly how man was created. None, zippo, zilch
All you gotta do is ask yourself, what ever substance man came from, who created it, what created it and how was it created. All 3 questions cannot be answered by any human.
Pretty strange how so many things have to fall perfectly in place in order for life to live on earth

This is the 2nd time I have deleted links to supposed personal information. No thirds!
As an aside, seriously, how easy would it be for anyone to create a personal page and frame it as someone here based on information we know.
If someone made a facebook account and added a line that "I go by bowlslit on covers" would that mean it was you?
Lets get real here.
seems like a pretty desperate tactic to play such a childish game...
but thats typical bobslit... If he could have simply had a civil dialog and discussed the topic and specifically answered my questions in a direct and simple manner he probably wouldnt have to resort to such desperate and childish games...

The whole "who cares" BS is nothing then deflection... anyone who reads post 34 can watch you do anything but answer the question...
It is also not a chicken and egg argument... if you are saying that man was not created at the same time as the earth then there had to be a beginning to man... not an endless chicken and egg cycle...
if man was created at the same time as the earth and the rest of the universe then it really is a chicken and egg argument and does not matter which came first as everything was created at the same time...
But... since in your perspective man was not there from the beginning, How did man come to be?

What a great scientist you would make?
What facts exist that make your statement absolute?
What facts say that it can't be a chicken or egg scenario if man was not created at the same time the earth was created?
I don't believe man was created at the same time as the earth. I personally believe the earth is actually around 4 billion years old give or take.
I don't profess to know exactly how man came to be. I do however think that there had to be some type of divine influence because there is too much complexity for the alternative.
I do also believe that no such formula for smashing hot rocks exists to create life forms and such.
I think I've said that more than once before. Did you get it this time?
Since you DO believe in hot rocks smashing to create life then please explain how any life form can survive the extremely hot environments that would surely exist?

im clueless to what a puppet hole buddy is... how many do you have?
Im sorry that you got so upset bowslit... This is a good thread tackling a good topic... i give you credit for not littering the thread with cut/paste BS like a maniac...
Let me ask you a few more questions on your beliefs of intelligent design...
so how would you explain it to kids in schools... like what do you think the curriculum should look like and main talking points...
even perhaps what questions on an exam would look like to show proficiency in test taking...

As I said before, they can just mention that intelligent design is an alternative theory that has many believers and leave it at that, rather than teach big bang and evolution as absolute.
Especially since your big bang and evolution have substantial holes in them.

IT is AGAINST the law, I am convinced you are brain dead. You want your kids to learn about creationism send them to a Christian school, but I don't want my son's muslim, je w or non-christian even mentioning something to my son.
Let's re-read this again bowsit, try to understand each word!
"Teaching
intelligent design in public school biology classes violates the Establishment
Clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States (and
Article I, Section 3 of the Pennsylvania State Constitution) because
intelligent design is not science and "cannot uncouple itself from its
creationist, and thus religious, antecedents."
