With Gore and Jacobs at rb just where does James fit in? James is smaller than Darren Sproles who is a great player but he is a role player.I wouldn't draft a role player in the 2nd round that's too high.James will never be more than a role player.

James on 3rd downs.............this is where he'll excel. That and returning kicks on special teams.

He could line up in the slot. Niners have a lot of options in the backfield now

Go big: Fullback and Jacobs

Go small: Hunter and James

And just for kicks-give the ball to Gore (who is 5-9, by the way)

The Niners can afford to go out on a limb in this draft. After filling the WR spots the Niners don't have much to build on for next season. Why not try to get an impact player. You probably though the same with DeSean Jackson. James in the 2nd is a great pick.

just look what sproles and bush do. if anything they are a great decoy. james should be used like them. defenses have to account for him. so many weapons now. sept cant get here fast enough!

I would not say the Niners had the best draft. Most sites I see have Pitt and Cinn just raking........

After what happened last post-season, I'm sure Harbaugh told himself "I will never be short on return men ever again"

This team lacked speed. The defense returns all 11 starters, so what would you fix? The offense. With speed. Jenkins was timed by the Niner at 4.31. NFL combine had him at 4.39. James is another 4.4 guy and Moss still has some tread. When the fastest guy on your team is a Tight End (Vernon Davis), you need to fix that.
