#9679 Posted: 6/26/2012 2:59:46 AM BAY AREA BASH BROTHERS BASEBALL LEAGUE________________________________ FIREBALLS SHOCK 1ST PLACE STR8BALLIN WITH COMEBACK STUNNER!
The Fireballs were left for dead. After getting shutout again last week for the 2nd time this year things looked bleak for them. Things got even bleaker as St8ballin danced on the Fireballs to the tune of 13-0. Would this be the impossible another Fireball debacle. Fireball GM Smoothd went ballistic, publicly calling his team out by name. Well after Smooth put a foot up his team's butt they started playing better. But Smoothd delivered on his promise to start rolling heads and SP Ricky Romero was the first to be shipped out. The Fireballs traded Romero to the Str8ballin for OF Nick Swisher. How often does a trade with the team you're playing happened? Meanwhile the Fireballs started to comeback only to get knocked in the teeth again. Robinson Cano called a team meeting Friday night and the Fireballs came alive Saturday to mount yet another comeback to actually take the lead. But the real dramatics came on Sunday when newly acquired Nick Swisher hit a 3 run bomb to scorch his old team and help seal the Fireball victory 8-6 over the 1st place Str8ballin and Fireball nemesis. Players rushed the field like they had won the pennant. Cameras got a shot of Smoothd up in the pressbox with a smile as wide as the Grand Canyon. Rumor has it Smoothd text the Str8ballin GM with a big thank you for Nick Swisher. You got to love those Fireballs for their spunk. ______________________________ CHAMPIONSHIP DESTROYS CALIFORNIA BEARS!
The Championship exacted revenge on the California Bears from a defeat earlier this year by stomping on the Bears 10-3! The Championship crusade was led by OF Justin Upton who drove in 11 runs while batting .391. It was nice victory for the Championship who is trying to catch Str8ballin for 1st place. Special mention has to go to the Bears 3B Brett Lawrie who scored 10 runs during the game. We believe that is a season high for runs scored. ________________________________________ CRUSHERS DEFEAT TSSAJOS 8-6!
The Blue Crushers coming off of 4 consecutive beatdowns finally got back in the win column by defeating the recently hot Tssajos. Nelson Cruz woke up and belted 2 HR's with 8 RBI's. The Blue Crushers who were once fighting for 1st place have fallen on hard times and find themselves on the outside looking in as far as Playoffs spots are concerned. There is plenty of time left for the Crushers to right the ship and this victory is a step in that direction.
