I think there is some truth to this statement in the sense that after suffering numerous setbacks in his recovery from a concussion the thought process of him and his family is said to not be taking retirement off the table. Having said that I expect him to be in the lineup at the start of next season but should he suffer another head injury next year the career of what could have been the best player ever may be done.

The best in the history of the NHL?

Subjective statements are difficult to debate but you've made a pretty bold statement.

You forgot the Vezina, he's that good

It was a nasty, nasty hit and he should be 100% before he comes back. Unfortunatly that could take many months

He'll be back and ready.  He still has 10 years left in the tank, sans another head shot.

You're way off.

Crosby is the ultimate competitor, he won't be giving up any time soon... more cups to come.

He was much more injury-prone that Sid. Lidros played for many years.  12 to be exact.

Come on Lipps I expect better from you.  BRETT played 2 years 51 games total.

Drafted 9th overall which means big things were expected of him.

Oh Brett......When I see Lindros I always think of you know who.

Gawd, I hope I never disappoint you again.  Don't know if I will get over it.

Oh wait...I'm over it.

Much better care and understanding of concussions since the 15 years has passed since he had to retire. If he was taken care of like Sid the Kid he would of probably played much longer. BTW, he was paid his full contract on the 3 remaining years.

If I had the tools and skills Crosby had.. 1 cup would not be enough. He is capable of so much more and he knows it. He'll be back for a long time.

As a team when you have an asset that valuable you do NOT rush him back too soon. How old is he? 25? There is plenty of time.
