The Hoakies have a great defense and one of the top defensive lines in the country. Their offense on the other hand is not the best.  I'm a Bama fan and after we played A&M talk about both ends of the spectrum. Va Tech's QB was something like 5-26 passing while Johnny F#$king Football exposed our secondary. Marshal has put up some numbers but not against the likes of Va Tech. Both teams combined are 0-5-1 under this year. I believe grab the under now it will probably drop. Under 53 GLTA!

Here is VT offense for you.  Run on 1st down for a yard.  Run on 2nd down for a yard.  Throw on 3rd down and try to get 8 yards for a first down.  VT defense has got some serious ballers.  No doubt.  If VT had a mediocre offense they would be in the top 15.  But the VT offensive line is terrible.  Not much at RB.  Logan Thomas throws a good pass then throws a bad pass.  Too inconsistent.  Don't know a whole lot about Marshall except they have an experienced QB.  If the game was at Marshall might consider them, but at Blacksburg with that defense it will be tough for the Thundering Herd.  I lean VT right now even with that pathetic offense.

I think I am going to take Va Tech Teasered down to -1 and hope they can take care of business since they have not lost to Marshall since 1940 I think I read...

What happened to all the real insights of the games??  All i see is a posted pick, or someone saying I like this team or that team with no explanation, rhyme or reason behind it....This does not apply to those of you whom do have accurate write ups and logical decisions, obviously.
Home team here as this "D" is very stingy and stoned Bama roll tide in week 1 keeping them off beat.  Marshall did throw up 52 on the red hawks week 1, but who doesnt...they went on to get destroyed by kentucky..which is a bottom feeder and punching bag for the rest of the SEC.  Not real impressive except to loosen up..  Saturday will be a different story as VT will not allow Marshall to get in any kind of rhythm.
VT offense needs to produce a little offense to win this game outright....Im banking them at home to do so and win this game.
Teaser bet -2, and closing my open end tease from Clemson thursday night.  Hope VT isn't looking for a quick win this week before traveling to GT!??  hence the teaser and not -8 for me, tease or nothing as I would not bet against a D of this caliber.

I like the under in this one....

VT stingy D

I expect something similar to what we saw in the Tech/East Carolina game, about 35-40 points total.

Virginia Tech should win this game easily.. However, until their offense shows any sign of being able to score, I would think you gotta take the points with Marshall here..

Marshall has a better QB and should keep the game close. VT has one of the best d's in the country but unless they score a couple of td's on their own. I think Marshall at + 10 is a safe bet. Cato has enough talent to be good in any conference.

Have to agree with the concern about VT offense.  I think they win at home but they have shown no identity on offense not being strong at either running or throwing the ball.  Not being able to break away from ECU last week is a pretty good indicator that VT will live or die by the defense the year.  Not a bad way to win 7 games a year but I can't give 10 points with a team that cannot consistently score against average teams.  Beamer needs to shake up that staff or move along.  He put Va Tech on the football map but he is not even close to being relevant on the national scene and now is middle of the pack in the ACC....a middle of the pack conference.

I have VT as a Pick on a 3 game teaser because I don't see them losing to Marshall at home.  Love 10 point favorites at home on teasers when I can find them in both college and pro games.
