USA might be hungry after missing out on the Olympics
Mexico might be muy baracho after winning gold in the Olympics

USA +515

Realize that the majority of the players in tomorrow's match had nothing at all to do with the Olympics.  The Olympics were all 23 and under, save for 3 players.  Tomorrow is going to be a very different story.

At the same time, you'll be asking for the US to pull off a feat they've never accomplished - winning south of the border.  They're 0-23-1 all time in Mexico.  Add to that this match is taking place in 104,000 seat Azteca Stadium........I just don't see it happening man.

I'd love for the US to show up and make a statement, but I really can't see them coming out of tomorrow night's match with any sort of mark.  I'm playing Mexico -.5, -1 at -115.

Good luck to you though!

I posted it in another thread but here's why I think the U.S. has virtually no chance tomorrow:

The US is 0-23-1 all-time in Mexico.

This game will be played at dirty, oxygen deprived, sold-out Azteca Stadium

To add fuel to the fire, Mexico will be honoring their Gold Medal winning team prior to the start of the game.

This game is classified as a "friendly" but there is really no such thing as friendly in games between the US & Mexico.

While not fielding their entire "A" squad, Mexico still have called in Chicharito, Guardado, Ochoa, Barrera, de Nigris, Zavala, Torres Nilo, Rodriguez, etc...a very respectable squad.  Also, many of the players called in play in Mexico and therefore travel won't be difficult.

Meanwhile, the US is missing keys players such as Dempsey, Altidore, Bradley, Bocanegra, and Cherundolo, among others.  Those that are coming in are making the long trip from Europe and there are also a few questionnable MLS call-ups.  Matt Besler, Alan Gordon, and Steven Beitashour all have yet to be capped and are out of their league playing their first national team game at Azteca.

Among the six U.S. defenders called in, none have more than 6 caps.  This lack of experience when playing in Mexico is not good.

I'd love to be wrong and see the U.S. win (heck, a draw would be a victory), but to me this can only be viewed as a multi-goal victory for the Mexicans.

What makes you think the USA national team is going to win a meaningless friendly without key starters and against an almost full and invinceble Mexico squad at Azteca?
Too much adversity to overcome here! USA missing core players like Bradley, Dempsey, Bocanegra, Cherundolo and Altidore. Only 3 days to prepare when most of this guys are gonna be playing together for the first time. It is a night game wich could be better to withstand the awful effects of 8000 ft altitude neverthless, playing at Azteca takes a physical toll as early as halftime. Unlike the USA wich is using the game to give experience to new players, Mexico is already ahead of that phase and will field an experienced and almost full squad.
As you can see, this game doesn't look pretty for the Yanks, the sometimes naive Jurgen Klinsmann is taking his team to the slaughter house with the dubious objective of "getting new players to experience hardships of World Cup Qualifying"
Well let's hope this experience doesn't backfire and instead of gaining experience the players end up losing any confidence of ever beating Mexico at home. This could be really ugly guys, with a new starting defense and against a full Mexican senior side, trying to proove they are also winners like the U23's, at 8000 ft Azteca stadium! I am thinking Mexico by a lot, i mean, more than 2 and up to 5 goals. Best bet is Mexico -2 at +6.20, and even better if you find -3 or -4 wich not many books are offering.

Caliente, in Tijuana must have went broke after Mexico won the Olympics.
I am sure they made a good chunk of it back today.

Great call man!!!!

I was way off on that one.  Didn't think the US had a chance in hell. I'm thrilled they won.  I hope it amps them for qualifying, because they've been playing some lackluster soccer since the loss to Ghana.

Congrats bro!

Great to hear you had it locked in!  I'm a huge U.S. soccer fan and was wondering if we'd ever win in Azteca during my lifetime.  Given recent form for both teams and the roster we had I thought it would be a 3-4 goal route.  Glad to be wrong and great call on your hit!

thanks.@ billy Loco

@ rf_dawg

Yea I never looked into the rosters, so I got lucky. I just simply faded Mexico because they won the Gold Medal at +500 odds. You know the USA was resting and scouting Mexico Olympic games on TV.  If we ever had a chance to win at Azteca, I figured it would be here.
