Pretty confident, but with the way UMass both erases and blows leads, I'm much more comfortable taking the points.

Game played to 71 possessions. Hard to really compare this one to anything given the Syracuse 2-3 zone versus the pressure man-to-man they'll see tonight from UMass.
vs. OK State 29/61 (47.2%), 9/19 from 3Pt
Game played to 72 possessions. OK State is primarily a man-to-man team, albeit with far less ball pressure than UMass. We can certainly glean from both of these games that Stanford shot the ball well at the Garden, but it's really not too useful in predicting how they might fare three months later and going against a very unfamiliar style.
Thank you. As you can tell, i want to play the under, but just cant find that edge ?..... besides my gut feeling they come out slow in first half, picks up in second , but too little to late and falls just short. Can we see both games play over ?..... |

I do, and I ultimately think it goes over, but I'm also anticipating a chaotic start with a lot of missed shots. Maybe something to the effect of 15-11 at the under 12 timeout? Just a hunch. If it doesn't happen, I'll sit tight with my UMassbet.

#255 Posted: 3/27/2012 7:37:24 PM Hope you are on Minny tonite. Read Neil's write-up and agree should be a up tempo game and at times not so. Last game against Oregon forward Olu Ashaolu 6'7" had 20 points in 23 minutes and 9 rebounds with 6 offensive. E.J. Singler had 19 points with 9 rebounds and Woods there center at 6'11" had 15 shooting 7 for 9.. I say this because in some ways Minny is similar to Oregon with Singler. Joseph, and Sims 7 assists. Minny has been in many games with 3 ball teams and earlier they were terrible. Tubby has done a great job defending 3 ball and IMO Minny should matchup excellent in this game down low and defending the 3. They did a good job getting to MSG winning all games on the road which should be an advantage here as well. |

Runs the whole offense. Don't know whether or not i should buy out because of this, he plays so out of control sometimes I would not be surprised if he picks up another charge |

It happens fairly often. I think he picked up 3 against SJU in first half of the game in January and didn't get another one the rest of the way. If he draws an early 4th, it might not be a bad idea to grab Stanford in-game provided there isn't a big risk of being middled. UMass tends to come flying out of the gates in the first half, though, so that's why I'm sitting tight for now.

I can see you have a very good read on this game. I lean your way here but want to watch a little bit before making a play. Huge coaching edge for Minny but I expect some possible Garden jitters since these guys have never played there while Washington had the game with Marquette early in the season. Matchup-wise, the Gophers should be in good shape as you said. Their big guys are just tougher than those of Washington. Obviously, Hollins and Coleman playing at a different level has been the key to this late-season resurgence.

#265 Posted: 3/28/2012 5:57:28 PM Been out most of the day, but the further I dig here, the more I like this play. Not gonna do a writeup but the basic premises are these:
-Both teams are now comfortable with one another
-Pitt simply doesn't force turnovers. As I've discussed previously, Wazzu is a "rhythm" offense built on passing and cutting. The way to disrupt an offense like this is with strong on-ball pressure (a la Ohio, Murray St, Marquette, etc...). Pitt simply won't do this. Even without Motum, the Cougar offense will be able to run their stuff.
-Pitt is a completely different shooting team at home. I don't have all the numbers in front of me, but the difference is rather eye-opening. Ditto for Wazzu's three point defense: 30.7% at home, 39.4% on the road. Wow.
Couple more things but I'm pressed for time. Good luck to everyone tonight!
