#1 Posted: 10/8/2012 9:38:44 AM BYU-3 --Cougars really have difficulty moving the ball w/ a frosh QB (injured starter)and have no FG kicker. Defense is stout, but so is Ore St, and the Beavs have more playmakers on offense, and have proven they can win on the road.
Ore St ML / +3

#2 Posted: 10/8/2012 11:36:58 AM I can't understand why the Beavs are dogs in this game. I was ready to play BYU as dogs before the line came out.
Leaning WSU myself. Good luck this week. |

#5 Posted: 10/8/2012 12:01:41 PM What good is their amazing defense if the offense cant score at all? Penn State and BYU have the worst kicking games in all of FBS |

Lean(s):
Wash +13 Errr, they beat Stanford, and that's something USC cannot seem to be able to accomplish. This Huskie QB outplayed RGIII in a bowl game, so he's capable enough to keep the trojan offense sidelined. |

or here's another take: Mannion could be out for two weeks, could be gone for a month. Riley said it was too soon to speculate. I'm told from a source close to the football program that the belief at Camp Riley is that the injury is "NOT" season ending. |

Will have to rethink this. Terrible news.
BYU's backup QB is also out. This could be a 6-3 type of game. At least the new QBs for both squads can hand the ball off, and we'll see who can rush block for the W. I still love the fundamentals of Ore St, their toughness in all those 1st 3 victories. Still lean Beavers. |

Indefinitely means undefined.
Raises a few questions. Would he postpone sugery til the end of the season? Some players have done that, though no Doctor would ok that; been done before. How much do they need him in their system? |

#13 Posted: 10/9/2012 10:27:40 AM guys-I'm a beaver alum--watched the whole game. Mannion never came out of the game for one play, nor was limping during the game.
I heard either partially torn meniscus (hell I've got that...) or a torn MCL-neither would be season ending.
Good thing about the Beavs is that Vaz was 505/50 to take the start QB this year, and BYU has bigger QB issues that us...backup QB playing with healed back fractures |

#14 Posted: 10/9/2012 10:45:40 AM The Beavers are off to a 4-0 start, thanks in large part to a passing game that Mannion has led. While the Oregon State offense is averaging only 23.5 points per game, it is eighth in the nation with 339.5 passing yards per game.
Mannion has thrown for 1,358 yards and seven touchdowns in his four games this season.
With Mannion out, junior Cody Vaz will likely start in his place. Vaz hasn't played since he was a freshman in 2010, completing six of his 17 passes for 48 yards |
