I mean look at the old food pyramid. That did wonders for the general health of the citizenry. And i know its not like the same info was instructed at universities and passed on from docs to patients

fact is he fled a burning house with three babies in it and refused to go back in.......quite strange since i would die trying.....not even a doubt in my mind
read all the forensic controversy tough call
so gov perry gets a report on a child killer that beats his wife yet maybe all thats made up.....seems like a tough sell for clemency
seems controversial still.
quite frankly if all my kids died id care not a whit about living anymore so its a non issue if it was me.
the whole article was just depressing.

Yeah, it's depressing alright. It's always depressing to me when a man's put to death based on the testimony of a jailhouse snitch who later wanted to recant his story, a supposed unsavory character, faulty outdated forensic evidence & the fact he didn't do what others thought he should have, but with no motive whatsoever. And then when new evidence comes to light from noted fire scientists, the governor doesn't even give a 30 day stay of execution for it at least to be looked into further & after he's executed & a commission is disbanded by Perry 2 days before the scientist is to give testimony. Yeah, that's depressing - haven't lived in TX for quite awhile but this story caught my attention & I read up on it. Stinks bad on all fronts - |

Woop gave a correct answer, but got his behind rammed because the forum is so used to his BS... but like I said... the thread should not be blamed for his unpopularity...
People are taking shots at him and he is taking shots at everyone else (including myself)... why is is so difficult for woop and others to have a serious discussion about the vaccine debate that occurred between Perry and Bachman?
I agree with you that Bachman may not be liar because she actually believes that the vaccine causes mental retardation based on an anecdotal story from one mother.... But this is what is so concerning about Bachman to me is that if she was in power she would make decisions that effect the nation and the world based on "what she believes" regardless if there is scientific/medical/reality behind it...
If perry was wrong, I would be slamming him for trying to poison our nation... i mean this is why they have the debates, so that we can get to know the candidates .
And if this is the process by which Bachman comes to conclusions and makes decisions, this is very scary indeed...
I question why she is so supported by the Teaparty other then she is a Palin who has actually worked in Washington before and is a part of the tea party legislative movement... I would think that if the Tea party wanted to be taken seriously beyond its followers they would have someone represent them that could be taken seriously...

More significantly, however, Bachmann’s claims about the vaccine’s
consequences are flat-out incorrect, and so dramatically so that the
American Academy of Pediatrics released a statement refuting Bachmann’s
claims, stating that “There is absolutely no scientific validity to this
statement” and that the “life-saving vaccine that can protect girls
from cervical cancer” has an “excellent safety record.”
It’s practically expected that presidential candidates will make
extravagant claims during campaign season, but this crosses the line
from exaggerated to outright dangerous.
This kind of incendiary, fear-mongering rhetoric is not only a
dishonest campaigning strategy but outright harms the public. Bachmann
told the Today Show that people have to draw their own conclusions about
the safety of the vaccine. But when this kind of blatant misinformation
is running rampant, it makes it significantly more difficult for
parents to make informed decisions about the vaccinations that their
children should receive.
Furthermore, after being faced with the reality of the vaccine, that
it’s just as safe as any other vaccine out there, she refused to correct
her statements.
"I didn't make any statements that would indicate I'm a doctor, I'm a
scientist, or making any conclusions about the drug one way or the
other,” she said during a campaign stop in San Francisco, The Huffington
Post reported.
That’s right: because she didn’t claim to be a medical professional,
she can say whatever she likes about a vaccine and assume that people
know that she has no grounds for the claims she’s making.
This kind of rhetoric has to stop. It’s harmful not only to the political process but to the public as well.
