#1 Posted: 11/30/2011 1:02:46 AM Headed down the day after Xmas & am staying at the circuscircus. I haven't been down for about 5-6 years & have never stayed up that far. What are some decent books in that area, or at least good places to watch games?

With a little help from my brothers here I'll make the most of it...............any good "under the radar" food joints downtown you would recommend?

Hugo's Underground in the 4 queens. A little pricey but my god the best steak I have ever had. The entire freemont area is so nice now. I was out there 3 weeks ago and couldn't believe as it had been 3 years since I was down there. Take the time and throw $20 to zipline over freemont too. |

#8 Posted: 12/1/2011 11:45:21 AM Sorry to hear you are staying there. It is the most depressing hotel in vegas. hope its not for more than a night or two.

#9 Posted: 12/1/2011 4:14:54 PM CC's sportsbook does seem late to change lines though. A few times this yr. they have been better lines than pinny. Bonesaw nailed it with LVH.
W/O a doubt Fremont St. has improved dramatically. However, if your a BJ player most games are hitting soft 17's now so prepare for that. |

#11 Posted: 12/30/2011 4:19:59 PM CC was ok but I wouldn't stay there again. Too many kids running around. I figured that would be the case, but like I said we didn't have much choice. The sports book was adequate...........all the lines were pretty much the same as the LVH although I did get a couple better lines close to game time @ LVH. The service in the book at CC was ok but the drinks were terrible. We just stuck to beer after day 1. They weren't real tight with drink tix, in fact the waitresses would ask us for 1 & if we didn't have any they brought us freebies anyhow (I'm sure tipping helped + we had play tix all over the table). It's actually a nice little place to watch a game.......was never crowded & has comfortable chairs.
Had a great time...........& came home with as much $$ as I left with. Would've been nice if Toledo hadn't fucked me but oh well.
Played golf Tuesday @ LV National & met/got pix with Spencer Haywood..............great guy........couldn't have been nicer to us. He spent a good 20 mins. shootin the garbage with us about his days with the Sonics. He's goin into the HOF as a Sonic which is very cool.
