Why, well there are many reason I can like of but the real reason is Verlander he is 4-0 in his last four starts with an era of .96 and coming into a game where you might be saying the Tigers backed into the Division and so on and so forth but really so did the A's they beat the Rangers down the stretch just like Tigers did to the White Sox.

A's are free swinging team and a pitcher like Verlander knows this and will not pitch to their strengths. It's big juice for a big reason.

The A's are a great story and so is Old Yeller and oh yeah he didn't make it to the end of the book either.

Tigers tonight 6-2 and take the series in 4.

lotj1:

Justin has not fared well in past post season games I will give you that 3-3 with a 5.57 era but how as Jarrod Parker faired...Right he hasn’t, rookie pitcher in a huge playoff game in a hostile place to play, against the raining CY Young, MVP and a team that wins at home and also Parker pitching on the road this year has given up 41 earned runs and teams are batting .257 against him his record against Det this year 0-1 3.18 era 5.2 inn pitched .261 avg against

Verlander at home this year 1.65 era 9-2 114.2 inn pitched 117 so .187 avg vs the A's this year 0.69 era 2-0 13 innings pitched 7 hits 13so they are hitting .156

Big game, big name pitcher.  Gotta take Tigers series price minus 150, IMO!

I am with ya Wiff, but I am not going to play many if any individual games. I am playing series wins and so far I am on the Tigers and the Giants. I may make some in game plays if I like prices but handicapping individual playoff games is much tougher in my opinion than a series. Best of luck and let's get this started right tonight.

I'm not saying the Detroit won't win, but at -184 it's over juiced and not much value. Might as well take SF or Reds atleast the pay out is better. This game can go either way and has the same amount of risk as SF vs Reds. Why lay -184, the better value is Oakland at +160.

Forgot to add GL everyone who are participating in this game, I just don't think the A's are going to lay down because Verlander is on the mound. This scrappy team has no fear, after losing 3 straight at home to the Angels this year, they went into Seattle and chased Felix Hernandez out of the game in 5innings putting up 5 runs. Sweeping the Seattle, then went right into Angel Stadium stealing 3 of 4, the Angels were 12-1 before they hit that road block. So don't expect an easy win today.

Lotj1 I think the most over used word in sports betting is value there is no vaule in losing 100.00 if you play that per game because you took value at +180, you might be right the A's might win, hell I might go tonight and buy the powerball winning ticket it's highly unlikly and probley wont happen but just like in Dumb and Dumber a one in a million chance is still a chance.

I wish you luck on your plays today and hope you make the right call, I am not here trying to change your mind I am here saying what I am on and what I belive and I will take the Tigers and the better pitcher and team at home value or no value

Thanks Wiff. I am waiting to see the price on the O's as well. You are so right on the most overused word being value in baseball betting. If you do not have a reasonable expectation of winning a game that matches up with the price being offered than there is no value in playing it. This game as you stated is Detroit or no play.

You are talking about a guys that lost his 6 starts not a guy that is 5-1 in his last six games with an era of 1.93 that is all Sept starts money time Parker is 3-2 2.31 in sept and 1-0 in Oct with a 4.50 era

I am not saying the A's will roll over and play dead, I am saying the better team with the better pitcher will win at home like they should

Verlander wasn't even at his best tonight and had them baffled. Now hopefully the boys can get a win with Fister and Oakland will be in deep crap.
