BYE WEEK OR NOT, I DON'T BELIEVE IN THAT garbage, LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO PITT AGAINST PHI, PITT ONLY WON BY 2 POINTS.  IF IT WAS BACK TO BACK GAMES IN 2 DAYS THEN I SEE THE DIFFERENCE, BUT 1 WEEK FOR PHILLY IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TO TAKE CARE OF THIS JOKE LIONS TEAM.  LIONS WILL COME TO THE GAME TOO RESTED AND BY THE TIME THEY REALIZE IT'S 4TH QUARTER, THE SCORE WILL BE ON THE BOARD PHI 37 DET 17. EASY MONEY PHI -4.5

Instead of going downtown and sucking some person, why not just stop at the sportsbook and put some down on Vick? He is realiable. I've won so many huge bets with the Eagles. They are my favorite team to bet....even though he plays careless sometimes, they didn't lose a game for almost an entire year. Eagles definitely underated this year, as they were last year. Just bad luck has struck this team, they are (or can be) much better than what they appear on paper.

you take PHI here simply because DET has lost their last 5 ATS
and has giving up 7 scoring plays of 60yds+ combined in their last two games. PHI has players capable of BIG PLAYS in Vick, McCoy, Jackson and Maclin.

no way Vick has won anybody HUGE $$$$ THIS YEAR OR LAST ....unless you've been betting against them. PHI is 10-11 in last 21 games, 3-7 in last 10 at home, 5-11 as FAV. I'm only picking them by default since they're playing DET who is 7-13 in last 20 games, 3-7 on the road, 2-4 as dogs.

Fazool.......that's probably the best avatar i've seen on Covers.  Very nice.

As far as this game..........the Lions haven't shown me much this year.  Stopping Megatron is all you have to do.  Running game sucks, defense isn't what it was last year, Stafford's girl behind always getting hurt.

Give me the Eagles!

Yea, the Lions are awful. The Eagles are awful as well, don't kid yourself.

Not a single cornerback on that overrated defense can stop Calvin, or even Titus for that matter. And no, not overrated "I get burnt by 4th string receivers" Asomugha.

Lions haven't shown me SH** - - all talk and hype, nothing else. Who have they "beaten" this year? The friggin' Lambs at home, BARELY - Big F***'in Deal........

Everyone knows the secret now, you double Megatron, sit back and watch Stafford force things that aren't there.

As long as Vick gets rid of the ball quickly, doesn't fumble and throw a bunch of picks, this game won't even be close

 Eagles -3.5 - - hell -6.5

Detroit's backs are against the wall win this game or their season is just about over.  In this "i really don't know who the hell is going to win any given game season" i will take Detroit to pull the upset coming off the bye.   Detroit are not awful they just haven't been able to find any consistency on either side of the ball.  Lions win this one with a late field goal.

I live in suburbia Philly and I don't have a good feeling about this one. And I have  no confidence in Vick. I'm staying away from this one.

I agree and any doosh out there ( e.g. Raynbird ) who thinks differently should slap themselves immediately.  Lions are a joke and that coach will probably get fired at end of the year.  Have you ever looked at the Lions defense?  they may have a great defensive line, but look behind that and it's a bunch of mediocre players.  and that's why they lose and that's why theyre 0-5 ATS and that's why they never win on the road.

Eagles minus wutevs

That is very close minded of you to say that. Infact I was speaking of last season. I won tons of money with the Eagles...but that is because I was able to  connect and see exactly which games they would win and cover. I did bet against them in their last loss of last season against Seattle. I remember that game, had a 2 teamer with Seattle and the over and covered. You just gotta know how this stuff works, and you'll see any team is profitable in this.

This season anyone could of made big money with them as well by putting a large bet on the ML. Philly had one of the longest win streaks in the league (or I think it was THE LONGEST for the current time they were undeafeated, dating back to last year...please correct me if I'm wrong) so they shouldn't be a scary bet.

You have to trust Vick. It's better than suckin person. They get it done. Philly is one of those very underated teams. Remember when they destroyed Washington and the Giants last year? And Dallas? Well I was on them all 3 of those games.

Matt2500-

Crazy you said that (Another psychic thing) bcuz I have the SAME gut feeling. As much as I like the Eagles, I have a bad feeling about them in this one. Seems like the perfect game to rig for Detroit....since Detroit sucks so much and the public still hasn't caught on, they want to keep Detroit looking "Worthwhile" for a bet, by allowing them to beat Philly. I hope not, I decided not to overthink, I put Philly in my original parlay. But left them out of many teasers, just because of that gut feeling. Everything on paper says Philly should cover.

My bad, I was thinking of the season before when they destroyed Washington. But they did beat them last year too. I was on that game too. Basically I've made money with them for the past 2 seasons, ever since Vick came back, I recognized how they were a hot team who transformed. They made a statement...but I guess not everyone heard it..lol

Well I'm glad you made money on them last year!... a lot of people lost big on the Eagles last year. Being a Philly guy, I've learned to be extra cautious with them. Last year the Eagles were 8-8, 8-8 ATS, 3-5 ATS at home, 5-3 ATS away, 6-7ATS fav, and 2-1 ATS dog. Last year was a crazy year. You must have bet against them in the first half of last year and for them in their last 8 games or so.

Oh, and Reid is 7-8 in games the week before the bye. It might be a useless stat, it might not... It is what it is.

My gut is telling me that if I do bet the Eagles, only do it on a Teaser or Super Teaser.

This year the Eagles have helped me out with their wins over the Giants and Ravens... I bet them to lose ATS and they did. I've stayed away from then in all other games. Since the team is so close to my heart, I've kinda learned what games are safe and which ones aren't with them. It just seems that Vick has regressed this year, and he is honestly too small to play in the NFL. He sure won't play in all 16, he's only done that once in his career when he was with the Falcons. We here in Philly are holding out breath each game. We know it is inevitable he gets hurt, the only question is in which game?

The other weird thing is that I think that his backup, Foles is the real deal. Foles was a stud in High School. He went to the same High School as Brees and he shattered all Brees's records. He was exceptional at Arizona in college too, but he had nothing surrounding him. So I'm almost hoping Vick gets hurt (being an Eagles fan) because I do not think Vick is good enough to win a Super Bowl.

MGM, random question here, but was betting the NFL last year crazy for you? It was for me.

Last year was a bad yr for me... In 2010 (my first year of betting) I ended the year up $5148 and it should have been a lot more. I threw some money away late in the season, I think I was up over $8000 at one point. Then last year in 2011 I only ended the year up $1283. I was a lot braver than my first year with my bets. Instead of putting down $100-$200 a week I was putting $500-$600 a week. At one point I was down almost $4000... I would have ended the year down, but towards the end of the year I just rode the Saints and mixed in other teams on my Parlays and I was able to save face.
