This is the show that busts these old perverts that try to hook up with underage girls via the internet.  Pretty unbelievable and disturbing how easy it seems to be to get them to make dates with girls they believe to be underage.

During the last five minutes of the show, one of the commercials that ran was for ExTenze, the peter lengthening drug.  How inappropriate was that???  Wouldn't you think whomever chooses the ads to run would have given this a little more thought.

"Oh, by the way, for you pervs out there, you might want to get some Extenze for your next visit with your underage date.  Guaranteed to impress that 15 year old!"

I may email them and ask them if they considered these guys to be a target audience...

most disturbing one was the guy who walked in naked to see the underage BOY then tried meeting another one the next day at mcdonalds after swearing to never do it again to chris hanson.

In my mind, the problem with these child molester stings done by NBC is that there isn't a real child or underage person involved in it from beginning to end.

It's all adults.   Even the decoy is an adult.    They are "acting" underage.

If I was their lawyer,  I would go into court and ask the judge "Where's the child that was going to be molested?"

a lot of them use the entrapment defense but that gets thrown out but i do agree with what you are saying sort of.

You can't be serious with this comment.  That's like saying "where is the dead person?" when someone gets caught hiring a hitman to murder someone.  Is that person innocent because the hit didn't ever happen?  Of course not...It's called intent.  I hope you don't have kids with that backwards line of reasoning.

they would never be able to stage anything real though, but i feel the law does a good job putting away pervs, i think this stuff holds up in court(i think), VH1 needs to do a "where are they now" episode with them. i thought it was a funny show, dumaases!!!! lock um up!!!! rumor has it that one of the guys killed him self and the family sued and won, or settled and thats why they stoped doing it, its part of that rara crap about them being unstable emotional people, bs weak stuff, film the show and lock them up

Just gotta applaud NBC for this. Let's hope more stations, newspapers etc. do the same - these scums should alway worry about getting on the front page/tv.
And hopefully seek help instead.

Even if it doesn't hold up in court this might prevent some cases of child molesting in the future.

Maybe, just maybe, you MIGHT not want to try and defend the rights of child molesters. Entrapment, my behind (no pun intended).

"Where's the alledged child?" That's like saying "where's the body?" in a murder. You can still be convicted of murder without a body.

I love how these whack jobs ALL HAVE THE SAME EXCUSES:

-This is the first time EVER I'VE DONE THIS (sure, I've been convicted of this before, but so what?)

-I didn't think the person was this young (after saying 47 times I'm 13 years old in all the emails)

-My job? I'M A TEACHER

They should the picture of these cocksuckers on the front page of the town paper...................

I would love to throw the switch on one of these people. I would never bet again if I could............................you folks in the ACLU have a nice day...................you, and your children

the point is that the decoy 99% of the time is the one that leads the conversation to sex.  the ppl at perverted justice know how to get a rise out of these of these guys literally and figuratively.  why a lot of these guys get nailed is because they are not making "snap" decisions and that is why the entrapment defense fails.  if an undercover cop was offering a recovering crack addict rocks, then that would be entrapment, since a person with a problem is forced to make a quick decision and has little time to think of the ramifications of what they are doing.  the child molesters have plenty of time to reconsider their actions since most of them drive 1-2 hours to meet up with the underage girl or boy they think they are meeting.  also they are not doing this show anymore partly because of the suicide in texas (which i do believe dateline and chris hansen were in the wrong and responsible for) and because the last operation they conducted only had 7 arrests.

Their defense wouldn't go far in court because these morons stay and talk instead of just getting the hell out of there without saying a word.  When they talk, all that they are doing is incriminating themselves later.  As for the suicide in Texas, I believe that the show was NOT at fault at all.  If I remember correctly the guy was a prominent figure in the state and he did the same thing the other guys did, talked dirty to underage girls, got caught with their pants down (no pun intended), and in this case he couldn't handle the pressure so he commited suicide.  It wasn't NBC's or Chris Hansen's fault that this guy was a sick pervert.  I also believe that this show could go on forever because they are always going to get at least someone no matter where they set up shop.  The part that I like best about the show is when the schmucks bring food and while the decoy is "changing" into something more comfortable, they start ripping into their taco bell and then they act all surprised to see Chris Hansen standing there.  That garbage is hilarious!!!!

I always wondered that myself when I watched that show.  The intent is clearly there but they never do anything once there and there is no girl.  I know they are pervs but legally the defense must have something to use.  Also, if you google the names of the guilty, you can read more about the high places most of them have held in the community.

lawyers have to defend them whether they like it or not.  im looking at it from their point of view.  obvoiusly these guys are in the wrong and need some kind of help.  and no this show is off the air for good.  perverted justice is still around, but the to catch a predator show is not.  as for the guy who killed himself, the show is definitely at fault, thats why his family got a huge settlement.  he never actually went to any of the decoys houses, dateline went to his house, and hansen was pushing for his arrest.  if he sits home and gets off on his conversations, no matter how sick that is, he is not doing anything illegal because he has shown no physical intent of having sex with the underage girl.
