Yea I'm surprised nobody picked the Kings either... They are the defending champions after all!

My gut said the Rangers at first. But if you ask me, I *still* think they won't be super high scoring. They will have one great line. But yeah, killer goaltending, and a willingness to pay the highest price.

However, I am going to go with Detroit as a bit of a sleeper pick. 

Damian Brunner playing with Zetterberg and Datsyuk. After dominating the Swiss league alongside Zetterberg, Brunner will need a little adjustment for the NHL. But man, this line could be super scary. Scares me more than that Ranger top line. I still would rate Datsyuk as the best overall player in the league. Easily.

Goaltending is above average, and I think out of the T.O. spotlight, the Monster is going to shine as a backup.

Losing Lidstrom and Homer hurts. So this is a bit of a stretch, but, I can't see this all-out favourite pick (Rangers) winning. This is a league of upsets. And the wings are NOT weak. They've been deep for years, and have several really nice new young players.

Nice thread. I'm surprise to see how many people are on the Rangers... It's a super short season, they had so many changes and not enough time for the players to work on it.

Flyers.  One thing they do consistently is start out the gate hot, top 3 team after 50 games or so, so the shortened season makes me extremely confident.
Plus, as Polar_Bear says, no one says you can't bet with your heart.
