I have always wanted to know this, but have never found the answer because it's not really a stat that is kept track of. Im thinking it would happen when it was two tennis players who really respected each other, were most-likely from the same country, and wanted a clean game out of respect.

Has there ever been a time that a ball looked like their OPPONENT'S hit was IN, but it was called out, but used THEIR review to get the call overturned due to wanting the Ins be In and the Outs be Out. I just think that would be such a great thing to see; to use your review AGAINST yourself because your opponent hit a shot in when it was called out.

If I played tennis, I could see myself doing that.

As long as calls are unbiased towards one player no real need. You figure you will get b"breaks" on calls thoughout te match. Most events don' t use hawkeye on most courts. The funny thing that on clay you see this when players will rub out theark even though opponent shot may be out but called in :)

I understand that most players Want to win and will accept calls that they know were in their favor. Im asking the opposite. Has a player ever used a hawk-eye review to make sure that the call was correct even though it will hurt them.

Someone used it recently, I think it was the US open. Can't really recall what match that was. The returner hit a great return down the line and the server challenged his own first serve.

Sometimes players give their opinion to their opponent about whether balls were in or out but I don't think they'd ever challenge against themselves.
