#2 Posted: 3/13/2012 8:33:13 PM The Rio for me as it's mostly comped and away from the Strip lowlifes and tourists..spacious rooms and Gold Coast and Palms quick walk across the street with package goods available at the GC for good prices..Easy to shop betting lines from the 3 different properties also.Love the sportsbook to chill out in in the mornings, comped beers and the food just off it is pretty decent.Other than less than optimal VP machines and hard to find 3/2 BJ,I have no problem with the Rio. 10 years running.
I'm of the opinion that once you've walked the Strip,no need to see it again..If you parents have never been, they can take a free shuttle from the Rio to the Strip or just stay at Harrahs..When you go with friends-may be completely different if pooling it and clubbing it at night..Harrahs is a decent midway spot. |

#3 Posted: 3/13/2012 10:13:51 PM my parents have already been to vegas, and we are going this year. I have never been there yet. I can't wait until we go. After we come back I'll be going back with some friends. My parents stayed at Bellagio last time. They said they wanna stay there again.

#4 Posted: 3/14/2012 1:02:32 AM THE GOLDEN NUGGET (downtown) this is the crown jewel of a resurging downtown scene, great rates, outstanding dining (try the lamb chops at Vic & Anthonys) the pool is one of a kind and a rarity for the downtown area ,,its nice,,but tight - they also feature a great spa relaxing in the steam/sauna/whirlpool,,all part of living the good life - check out Gordie Brown in the showroom if you get a chance - usually can find two for one tickets fairly easily--enjoy vegas , and get downtown to check it out even if you end up staying elsewhere, needless to say The Bellagio is mighty nice "elsewhere" |

#9 Posted: 3/15/2012 5:40:38 PM I agree with James, I love the Rio, but have been to vegas 15 + times. On the strip I like Mirage and Cesars Palace. Going next Thursday staying at Hard Rock for the first time and excited as hell. |

#10 Posted: 3/16/2012 5:59:58 AM Iv always stayed at the Rio, but this September I booked a room at Paris,
Reasons
Im older now and the rio is for a younger crowd
the shooting by some gang at the rio parking lot last week turned me off
Apparently this gang is known to hang out at the rio night clubs quite often
I dont travel alone, I have a wife and a 3 year old, I dont want my kid in harms way.
Bored with the Rio and I usually use the book at MGM Grand Or the Belagio
Belagio is right across the street and the location of paris is center strip without the center strip prices
and last but not least, Gordon Ramsay opens his newest venture inside the paris called Ramsays steaks, Not only a big fan of the show and the man but the food at his LA location is outstanding, buts its far from where I reside. |

#11 Posted: 3/18/2012 12:15:40 AM In my attempt to recover my huge loss I stayed a couple of nights more at the Aria . It is a space age hotel. Nice and quite. The room control is all electronic. From the TV one can control the lighting and the temprature. The curtaines open and close by a switch. When you are ready to sleep you flick the Goodnight switch which will close the curtains and turn off the lights. My mission wasn't accomplished but I liked the Aria. The one thing I didn't like was the minimums at the tables were high for me . 25 minimum blackjack tables. I needed $60 minimum to play Ultimate poker.

My immediate family is spread across the states and we meet up in Vegas for xmas and new years every year. We stay at the MGM Signature suites and book them through www.vrbo.com. This is what we get.
They have penthouse rooms with two separate suites. When you approach the room you have one large entry door that leads into a small foyer with two smaller doors. One leads into the 2BR suite and the other leads into the 1BR suite. Just an idea if your looking to stay together but have separate living quarters. There is one reasonable price for the entire suite. Let me know if that interests you and i can find a link to the rooms for you

#16 Posted: 3/25/2012 1:29:00 PM I like the Hard Rock, despite the legions of Ed Hardy-clad douches and the implication that Taylor Swift is 'hard rock' music... Good restaurants and plenty of actual rock memorabilia to supplement the 'Fergie's Scrunchee'-type exhibits... |

#19 Posted: 3/27/2012 1:00:05 AM Bellagio is a good choice.
1- You don't have to watch your back 2- It's clean 3- The staff is very prideful 4- It's in the middle of everything

#22 Posted: 3/28/2012 6:37:55 PM The Mirage is my fav.
Yes, it's older. No, it's not as "fancy" as Wynn or Encore. But it has a nice feel to it. Nice crowd. The pool area is great. The location is awesome. It's not the most expensive or the cheapest. By far, the Mirage is my first choice when I go. And I go once or twice a year...
