They are basically racing go karts that go 225 mph. I raced 2 cycle go karts on a dirt oval that went about 65. I remember how scary our wrecks were. I could not imagine being involved in one of those wrecks. I went to the Indy race at Texas a couple years ago and will say it was the most exciting race I have ever seen (Besides Knoxville Nationals) but I also told my old man I dont know how they dont lose more drivers going that fast and weaving in and out of each other.

RIP Dan

They had planned a test  this week at speedway in new car but cancelled.

Don't think they should race here

I always loved when they raced at Texas, very exciting to watch, as I'm sure Vegas would have been if not for the accident, but when you are bumping and weaving in and out at those speeds in cars that barely weigh 1/2 a ton, only bad things can happen ......Horrible finish to the season, hope the new cars are much safer and knowing that Dan had a hand it helping them develop it, maybe they will be much safer and we won't see this happen again for a long time.

hey guys, I am not a huge Indy fan but do watch some of the races and remember the way Dan won Indy this year.  That was a great moment for him and what a likeable guy like all people said.  That crash was insane.  I feel for the family, 33 year man, married with 2 small sons.  After watching the crash I had to hug and kiss my 2 girls as you just never know..  Such a sad moment in racing.

I know drivers when they strap in every week know the risks of what they do but one must think the Nascar folks this week going to the craziest track have to have thoughts in the back of their heads when they are out there thinking of last weekend.
