#5553 Posted: 2/2/2013 2:56:14 AM I've been following this thread since the beginning. Mavin, along with Melo and many many others, have made me realize that I was just tapping into the important areas of capping the NBA in particular.
Thank you all for your knowledge, hard work and all you have done to provide me and others the variables that we were missing in our efforts to try and beat the Association and Vegas in particular.
Keep up the good work. |

Melos was never a great capper. He was just a gambler on a hot streak who left soon as he got cold. This was very obvious with his constant in game posts, cheer leading, and over emotional state inherent in a gambler. Happens all the time on these forums.

#5555 Posted: 2/2/2013 3:26:08 AM Stocktrader, my post was not directed at or to anyone inparticular. I haven't followed the doings or the undoings of each member in the thread. I have noticed that you have been a positive contributor and for that, thanks.
Appreciate your input as have many others I'm sure. |

u know I'm a regular reader of ur thread and just post once in a while here and usually is to ask you something. Today is no different ehehe.
I was wonder what were the reasons behind your Miami -2 pick??? As I said it before (but referring to other bets), this is one of the bets that doesn't make any sense coming from you!
Thx and gl for the weekend |

Thx and gl for the weekend When the Heat decided to fight back - that was too late. I was convinced they'll do it earlier to even the series out. The line movement did not bother me in that case too much as I'm used to strange line movements. Anyway - that is gone. GL |

I'm really liking the Knicks tonight. melo's on the zone right now, and with All Star Game coming up and the second half of the seaosn being all about seeing who's gonna be the MVP, I can totally see Carmelo upping his game from now on and posting 25+ games match after match. Knicks (and Carmelo) also like to finish their games in style, especially playoff teams, like they did to Dallas, Denver, Miami, Houston, Chicago, Spurs, so I see them confortably outscoring their rivals in the fourth quarter tonight.
Same reasoning today. Plus, there is a precedent to back it up, as NY outscored the Kings 24-19 in the fourth quarter last time they played this season (even though they lost 106-105), and that was in California, without SAC playing back-to-back games in the east coast and with no Carmelo Anthony.
February 02, Bet 01 New York Knicks -1.5 4Q - $250 to win $200 |

#5566 Posted: 2/2/2013 2:57:23 PM About the calculation model... that I've been testing here. I've noticed that one of the "tracks" was actually doing much better than "original" model. I'm not going to post calc. picks anymore, since it costs me a lot of time and work and the result was not what we expected. Instead I will post picks indicated by the "track". GL all. |

#5567 Posted: 2/2/2013 3:58:08 PM After looking at today's card and evaluating every game spread wise and totals wise - I can't find many interesting options. I agree with Phixer on Minnesota and also think that the way the books only moved the odds and not the line - is a testimony on Minnesota covering. I liked the Over in Cleveland as it is hard to see how the best offensive team will be held at the low scoring against twenty fourth team in defense. I also like the Thunder to cover there but away team given that much point is a bit crazy bet. I don't know why the odds makers are so sure Atlanta is a big favorite against the Bulls and the Knicks are such big faves as well. It is interesting that Washington and Orlando are being favored to cover and I see that Charlotte is a books favorite against the public to cover in Houston. So, today I will go Billy Walters style (Gangam style) and will cap few more games that I am used to in order to get the feel of going with the initial intuition mixed with line movement reading. |

#5568 Posted: 2/2/2013 4:14:33 PM After contradicting my opening sentence with my closing one and confusing the hell out of myself and the readers - here are the plays:
The Bulls have embarrassed the Hawks in Chicago the last time around. No, not really, those crooks in uniforms and with multi million dollar accounts never get embarrassed. Another thing is that those two teams played 8 unders out of 10. One more thing to take into the consideration is the fact that very few close games have been played between those two. The last one was in Chicago 4 games ago (13 months ago). So, my leans here are the Bulls +7.5 and Under 181.5.

#5569 Posted: 2/2/2013 4:18:25 PM The Knicks are off a coming back night against the Bucks and I see no reason to support them first half against the Kings. Leaning Kings +7 and Under 101.5 First half |

#5572 Posted: 2/2/2013 5:34:45 PM makes 4 good read, but did not seem to me to make any valid point,no disrepect meant,Except what u said about money manangement.I made my 1st wager years ago,on auburn +6 in 74 Gator Bowl.Been at it ever since. Not bc i won,but it was fun.I have my share of big wins an losses, won on crazy plays an been beat every way possible ,buzzer shots, walk off homers,an the craziest, colt runback of onside kick vs jags late in 2010 season.I am quiting 4 good after 2014 ncaa tourney is done.40 years is enuff.tried all, even touts.Ive learned one tool that helps,as 90% gravitate towards 500,tail teams that cover, fade teams that dont, and though this takes patience and time,it works,c phillys 3-13 ats this past year, stay close to home which means SEC 4 me in college football an hoops, pick straigt up winners in nfl,as i have noticed mostly they cover, whether favs or dogs, pitchers in baseball, and select only a few nba teams an handicap them.Though simple this has rewarded me in the last few of my betting years.I will miss the action, but the contests on covers are neat and u do not lose ur cash.In the quest to hit the 21 in THE STREAK,i have seen 2 hit it,a few miss on 21,an to my knowledge never anyone hit 25.Best of luck to all. |

What makes a person a great person is an ability to make a positive out of nothing for as many people as possible. Things that you say are valid about tailing the teams that have a great ATS - but in order to do that you have to know who they will be as the season starts with 0-0-0 and those who are half term over 60% tend to even out towards the end. If you did not get anything from this thread - it means that you already knew those things which is great. But if there's something you don't agree - that what I'd like to know and discuss. I don't measure my self respect by who do and don't respect me online. So - please feel free to contribute if you have something and we'll be glad to hear. |
