An Obama campaign official said that the campaign would not apologize for Vice President Joe Biden’s “back in chains” comment, despite a call from The Boston Globe to do so.

On Tuesday, Biden spoke before a diverse audience in Virginia that included many African Americans and said that if Mitt Romney won the presidency his administration would repeal regulations on Wall Street. “They are going to put y'all back in chains,” he said.

In an editorial on Friday, The Globe wrote, “Imagine if Republican Paul Ryan uttered comments like that. Mitt Romney’s pick for vice president would be pilloried for racial insensitivity — and so would Romney. In the fight for civility and substance over pointless hyperbole, Biden may not be the worst offender. But he’s an offender nonetheless, and he should apologize.”

Speaking on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday, Stephanie Cutter, an Obama deputy campaign manager, said that no apology was necessary and that Biden’s choice of words were “a distraction from the larger argument” about deregulation. She said the Romney campaign has also said things about the president that are offensive, including questioning his patriotism.

“We are not going to be lectured by Mitt Romney,” she said. “That’s completely hypocritical.”

The Boston Globe is a conservative rag with a long history of crying about Democrats.

But they are right, if Romney or Ryan said that you libtards would get your panties all in a tizzy and occupy something.

But Romney didn't say it, Biden did, and guess what -- everyone's still making a big fuss about it!

The first lines of that article spin the friggin story like a top, painting the racially diverse room.  Then they hit you with the chains comment, it's obvious how racist that comment was right!  Come on people... you think he actually intended to stand up there and actually direct that comment at the black people in the room, purposely playing off of the history of slavery?  I'm sure the comments had nothing to do with black and white.  Media... this party vs that party, old mentality vs new mentality, its all bullshit... one big puppet fight.

My point is Biden wasn't worried about making such a ludicrous statement because the media wants the left-wing to win so he doesn't have to worry as much as Romney or right wingers would

Who cares what he meant. If his judgement is that bad and he can't think on his feet, do we want him one cocaine induced beat away from the presidency?

He is f'ing stupid plain and simple.

Exactly.  As much as the tards complain about Fox News, the overall media bias still very much leans the the left.

replace american military with private war entities,,,,problem solved

the funniest garbage is how the left rails on and on about corporations and taxes not being fair. Um, hello, Joe Biden hails from the Cayman Islands errr  i mean Delaware, corporate tax haven capital of the USA

I heard the NPR propagandists today, had Lawrence Yun on, cheering on house prices rising. Yea, that's exactly what us working poor folk need, more expensive housing. It's as if they want housing to get more expensive then it was at it's peak when it cratered the global economy, like that does "the 99%" any damn lick of good

Then you have all the leftists rooting on the stock market prices getting more expensive (how does that benefit the poor?)

They poke fun at the red states for having such low cost of living, meanwhile the dems are the ones that care so much for the poor. yes, with their good schools and good neighborhoods (code words for no blacks/hispanics allowed) and their regentrification projects (make it too expensive for the undesirables) the left is the most hypocritical bunch of liars you will ever encounter

You don't understand why a housing market that's going up is good for the 99%... especially when there's so many people upside down?

The stock market going up isn't good for the 99%? The stock market going down under Bush didn't seem to be too good for the 99%.

A rising housing/stock market is bad for the 99%... now that's a good one.

Joe says anything he wants because he knows he can get away with it but Lord forbid if any repubs made outrageous comments you bet the media will have a field day with it.

Just so obvious that for the most part the media are liberal nut jobs.
