LET'S GO KINGS...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today the Kings make it official... They will be in the Stanley Cup Finals this season... and they'll be "In It To Win It"...

Elimination games can be tricky to put it mildly. I expect the Kings defense and netminding to be in top form and I expect the Yotes to give it thier last, best shot also. I can see this being a close 2-1 kind of game until the end where your guess is as good as mine. Could end 2-1... could end 4-1... but I am confident in one thing for sure... This series ends today...period.

I like the Kings in RegTime today and will use the ML... PL and RegTime lines also in parlays.

Yesterday morning was smokin for me with LIVE wagering but the smoke turned into fire as the day progressed and consumed every parlay I played yesterday... Still... It was a good day... Back at 'em today... ... with... ... and maybe some ... but I have not looked at those yet.

2012 - IIHF Medal Games

Bronze Medal Game - Czech Republic vs Finland

Finland is a large juice favorite at home vs the Czech's today in the Bronze Medal game... I like the Czech's here and that selection is based on 50% confidence in how they have performed and 50% against the Fins who have been a very flakey team in this tourney. The Czech's rank above the Fin's in every stat category of this tourney and have shown the ability to score while the Fins have discipline problems and can quickly get themselves into penality problems where I expect them to pay the price in defeat.

You'll find some good info here...

http://stats.iihf.com/Hydra/272/IHM272000_84_14_0.pdf

http://www.iihf.com/competition/272/statistics.html

Give me the Czech Republic-ML (+140)... RegTime (+210)... and I've also used the Czech's +1 1/2 PL (-208) for parlay action. My Best Guesstimate is Czech-4 Finland-3 in RegTime... however I'm staying away from the total since they have not been kind to me during the entire tourney.

Gold Medal Game - Russia vs Slovakia

The Russian have been on fire during these 2012 IIHF games and have only improved the longer they have played together. They have played some yawners but have survived each game victorious. In this Golden Game they face a Slovakia team that has beaten some of the big boys... Canada, USA and the Czech Republic.

I like the way the Slovakia team has played but with Malkin on fire and the Russian seemingly highly motivated, I don't think that Slovakia can outscore the Russians. Whatever Slovakia can score... The Russian will get AT LEAST one more than them. Russia comes into this game on a 9-0 streak and has won every game by at least TWO goals, although they were not always PL winners since the PL lines were high spreads. Russia has only allowed more than 2 goals ONCE in a 7-3 stomping of team Sweden. They held 4 teams to just 2 goals... one team to just 1 goal... and have 2 shutouts in thier 9 wins. Russia has a +26 GDF in those 9 games while Slovakia has a +10 GDF in thier 9 games (7-2). Team Slovakia won 3 games by 1 goal... 2 games by 2 goals... has 1 shutout... and a 4 goal win over Belarus. Thier 2 losses were by one goal each (2-3 to Canada and 0-1 to Finland).

I like Russia-ML (-556)... RegTime (-333)... and -1 1/2 PL (-141) but ONLY in parlay plays since the juice is extremely high. My Best Guesstimate is Russia-4 Slovakia-2 in a hard fought game with a potential for a blowout once the Russian start scoring since they can get them in bunches. Again... I'm skipping the total play since they have failed me to many times in these IIHF games.

How fun would it be to see this Team Russia play either the LAKings right about now... Both teams are smoking hot.

Good Luck To All

Russia -1.5
Slovaks have only five defenders left after injuries, and they played very hard game yesterday. Russia didnt need much energy to beat finns, so i could see them scoring a bunch of goals tonight, though Slovak goalie has been great. Thinking about the over too...

NOTE: PHX has not allowed more than 2 goals in every game on the road in these playoffs (4-2)...

BUT... The Desert Puppies have been outscored 10-3 in the first three games vs the Kings.

NOTE: The Kings have only allowed B2B goals by a team ONCE in these playoffs (in game 4 vs Vancouver)... Everytime they have allowed a goal in these playoffs they have answered that by scoring the next goal in every game (except that game 4 vs Vancouver).

The Under-4.5 is a strong play but I agree with LeRinkRat... "You never know with these elimination games". This game could be 0-0 late in the 2nd period... then 1-1 at end of the 2nd... and WHEN LA would get a 2-1 lead they could easily add 2 ENG's since they have been hitting them in these playoffs.... ANYTIME you select Under-4.5 you are playing with fire in a pile of dry leaves.

I think KINGS in RegTime is the best play again... just like in game 3... My Best Guesstimate is Kings-2 PHX-0 for the WCFinals Series Clinching Win...

I could easily see this game being a mirror of yesterdays NJD/NYR game 3 which as we all know was won by the NYR 3-0 after being scoreless for the first two periods.

I am hoping for another shutout by Jonathan Quick but would not be suprised to see another 2-1 win... Since I'm rooting for Quick to blank the Desert Dogs I obviously like the Under-4.5 which I hope hits for my friends here on Covers... ... BUT if the Kings can win this game 7-0 then dang it I'm all for that...

PHX-Smith 8-6 with a 2.02 GAA and a .942 SV%

LAK-Quick 11-1 with a 1.41 GAA and a .951 SV%

More to follow...

I didn't plan on playing the total but I think I talked myself into it here... Hopefully Quick and the Boyz from The LA Hood can blank those Dirty Desert Dogs... so Under-4.5 it is today...

You might be wondering why the Best parlay of the day is NOT the Biggest ticket of the day...

It's because I had already make the "biggest" parlay of the day earlier and didn't want to pound it too hard on the other book since I already had a good amount on those games... PLUS the "Best" ticket contains a "total" selection and they have not been kind to me lately... but I like that selection and wanted to include it.

I hate to admit it but this game DOES seem kind of fishy to me also...

Cleveland is HOME and on the mound they have LOWE going for them... He is 6-1 with a 2.05 ERA... Going for the WhiteSox is Johnson who is 1-3 with a 5.36 ERA... YET when you look at the lines for this game Cleveland is a slight Dog at (-102) with Miami at (-108).

Seems as if the Books think Johnson will suddenly snap out of his funk and that Lowe will turn back into a pumpkin on Sunday... Makes you wonder WHY they think this will happen suddenly.

Cleveland shut out Miami 2-0 yesterday...  Miami won 3-2 on Friday vs the Indians... I think that Cleveland should win and when I saw the line I was wondering what was up myself.

From ESPN...

Cleveland's Derek Lowe does not look like a guy pitching in the twilight of his career.

The sinkerballer has a chance to become the majors' first seven-game winner Sunday as the Indians wrap up their weekend series against the visiting Miami Marlins.

With his 39th birthday looming June 1, Lowe (6-1, 2.05 ERA) does not appear ready to hang up his glove. He's 4-0 with a 1.30 ERA in five starts since giving up four runs in 4 1/3 innings of a 4-1 loss at Seattle on April 18.

The highlight of Lowe's winning streak came Tuesday in Minnesota, when he tossed a six-hitter in Cleveland's 5-0 victory. It was his first complete game since 2008, and first shutout since 2005.

"It's been a really gratifying start," Lowe said. "Coming into this season there were so many questions about, `Are you done? Are you going to retire? I worked my tail off, not just to prove people wrong but to get myself back to where I knew I should be."

Lowe, who went 9-17 with a 5.05 ERA last season with Atlanta, became the first pitcher to throw a shutout without a strikeout since Baltimore's Scott Erickson did it against Kansas City on April 28, 2002.

"I don't have what you'd call a strikeout pitch," Lowe joked to the Indians' official website. "All my pitches are hittable."

Though Lowe is certainly pleased with his early success, he continues to keep things in perspective.

"No one ever remembers what you do in April or May," he said. "Everybody remembers what you do from Aug. 15 on. So you just try to stay afloat until then. The last six weeks is when the fun begins."

Lowe, 7-5 with a 4.93 ERA in 18 career starts against the Marlins, hopes to help Cleveland (23-17) take two of three from Miami after Jeanmar Gomez and three relievers combined to allow three hits in Saturday's 2-0 win. Indians starters have worked six or more innings in 20 of the last 23 games.

Asdrubal Cabrera homered and Shin-Soo Choo added two hits as the AL Central-leading Indians won for the fifth time in six games. Choo is batting .385 (10 for 26) in six games since being moved to the leadoff spot. He's hitting .415 in his last 12 interleague games at Progressive Field.

Facing the Indians for the first time Sunday, probable Miami starter Josh Johnson (1-3, 5.36) allowed two runs in seven innings for the second straight start in Tuesday's 6-2 victory over Pittsburgh -- his first win since April 19, 2011. That drought included 12 starts sandwiched around a season-ending shoulder injury.

"Hopefully with this game he gets back on track," manager Ozzie Guillen said. "He's our ace. Hopefully he starts pitching like he is."

The right-hander is 6-2 with a 3.38 ERA in 13 career interleague starts.

Hanley Ramirez had one of three hits Saturday for the Marlins (21-19), who dropped to 13-5 in May. The Miami third baseman is batting .367 in his last 13 games versus AL opponents.

Miami could again be without the speedy Emilio Bonifacio, who had his consecutive game streak end at 112 on Saturday after straining his left thumb in Friday's 3-2 victory.

Just take Cleveland and side with the hot pitcher at HOME with the hot team that is leading thier division.

Cleveland-ML... but beware the total... With yesterdays game being a 2-0 contest I usually like to side with the Over next game since I've seen this happen way to often. When two teams play a low scoring game, many times the next one is a slugfest... and flip that because when two teams play a slugfest, I've seen too many times that the next game is very low scoring... MLB is funny like that.

This ticket is ALL MLB but I like it based on the pitching matchups and the nice prices being offered... I know it's all favs BUT it is possible to win all these games with a little luck also. I put this ticket together last night when the lines were fresh... Let's Go Lady Luck...

Combination

  • Chicago (A) at Chicago (N) (Moneyline) Chicago (A): J Peavy(No Action) -130 Open

This ticket cost peanuts but has a nice potential payout... Consider it a backup ticket in case things don't go smoothly for some of these favs... This ticket contains what I consider to be some of the more likely Dog winners that COULD get wins vs the favs they are playing today... Just like a vault combination, IF these are correct (upsets) and the tumblers fall into place then the payout will be worth the peanuts involved in the effort to put this ticket together. AGAIN...These are NOT ALL primary selections of mine... Some are just potential dog winners that concern me so I played this "small risk" backup.

Combination

  • Oakland at San Francisco (Moneyline) San Francisco: T Lincecum(No Action) -160 Open
  • Seattle at Colorado (Moneyline) Seattle: B Beavan(No Action) +125 Open
  • Chicago (A) at Chicago (N) (Moneyline) Chicago (A): J Peavy(No Action) -130 Open
  • Minnesota at Milwaukee (Moneyline) Milwaukee: Z Greinke(No Action) -220 Open
  • Atlanta at Tampa Bay (Moneyline) Atlanta: T Hudson(No Action) +115 Open
  • Baltimore at Washington (Moneyline) Baltimore: W Chen(No Action) +145 Open
  • Boston at Philadelphia (Moneyline) Boston: J Beckett(No Action) +125 Open

Yes... American League always does better but if you pick your spots you can do well with Nat League teams (Like SF who beats up on the other Bay Area team(Oakland).

Czech Republic (+140) wins the Bronze with a 3-2 win over Finland.

After the 1st period the score was 3-1 Czech's but unfortunately for me it remained that score until midway through the 3rd period when the Fins managed to score to make it 3-2 then.

The Czech's took a shot at the empty net from between the Fins blueline and the red line but the lone Fin playing defense in his zone, about 20 feet in front of his empty net, got a stick on it and deflected it out of play with only :03 remaining in the 3rd period... That was my shot at the Over-5.5 goals... It was on its way into the empty net... Dang... That Sucked

I have the Czech winners on several active parlays so hopefully I'll still cash in on that nice dog RegTime Winner.
